MSgt. Wilfred L. Hooper, son of Mr. and ( Mrs, Zcb L. Hooper of Clyde, re-1 cently was awarded the Good Con-, duct Medal in formal ceremonies held at The Transportation Cvpter, 1 Fort Eustis, Va. A graduate of Wayncsvllle Town ship High School. Sgt. Hooper is presently assigned as group Ser geant Major In the Transportation Replacement Training Center. Sgt. Hooper entered the Army in 1945 when he enlisted in the Signal Corps at Portland, Oregon. Upon completion of basic training at The Signal Corps School in Camp Crowder, Mo., he was as signed to the ?772d Signal Battal ion in Frankfurt. Germany. While In Germany, he attended the Quartermaster School in Darm- siaat. He is authorized to wear the World War 11 Victory &. Oc cupation Medals. Sgt. Hooper returned to the States in 1948 and was assigned to Fort Jackson, S. C. In October, 1950, he was transferred to Fort Eustis. His wife, the former Elisabeth M. Bimler, lives in Clyde. We really will appreciate it if the officials will give us warning when they are going to shut the power off. It i tough going when you have to walk one-half mile for a bucket of water when you are depending on an electric pump. The three-act comedy is directed by Mrs. O. L. Yates, with Bobbie Smith as assistant director. Titled "The Hoosicr Schoolmas ter," the play goes back to 1871 for its setting in the Indiana home of Mrs. Means, "the biggest tax payer in Flat Creek District".
