Hyatt Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Mary Geor giana Bowles of New York City, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Bowles of Boston, Mass., to Joseph Dewey Hyatt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Hyatt of Hazelwood. The Rev. Broadus E. Wall offi ciated at the ceremony, which took place here Saturday evening, June 2, at 8:30 o'clock. Only a small group of relatives attended. The bride wore a navy street length dress with white accessories and a corsage of hite roses. . ftfteFTe cefemimt&the couple left for Johnson City, Tenn., where they will reside for a few months before returning to New York to make their home. Mrs. Hyatt was graduated from the Summerville High School in Boston and more recently has been employed by the American Tele phone Company in New York. Mr. Hyatt attended Mars Hill College after graduation from the Waynesville High School. He serv ed three years in the Army during World War H and has since studied voice at the Julliard School of Music, New York, the New York Music College, and Columbia Uni versity. During the past year he has attended the Theatre Wing in New York. The articles describe the pro gram carried on by the librarians in twelve western North Carolina counties in promoting local inter est in the Cherokee Indian Drama Frances Cobb And Jim Hart To Be Married A wedding of Interest to Waynes ville and Lake Junaluska resi dents will be that of Miss Frances Cobb of Largo, Fla., to Jim Hart of Abingdon, Va., which will be solemnized Wednesday, June 13, in the Methodist Church in Sem inole, Fla. Both bride-elect and bridegroom, elect are summer residents of Lake Junaluska. Miss Cobb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Cobb, was graduated this week from Wesleyan College, Macon, Ga. She was supervisor of the Ivey Playground last summer and was elected Queen of Junaluska..- Mr. Hart, the son of the Rev, and Mrs. H. Barbara Howell Celebrates 8th Birthday Miss Barbara Howell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Garrett Howell of Lake Junaluska celebrated her eighth birthday Saturday with a wiener roast at the home of her parents. Wiley Camlin, Duane Medford, Billy Stamey, Jimmy Leatherwood. Medford Brothers I Are Honored On Visit At Home Four Medford brothers, sons of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Medford of Lake Junaluska, were honored at a turkey dinner given at their home Saturday night, with their grandfather, J. L. Walker, as host. The occasion marked the first time the brothers had been together in over a year. The brothers are Cecil and Brooks Medford, who are at home on leave from the Naval Base at San Diego, Calif., Truett Medford, here from Camp Rucker, Alabama, and Lawrence Medford, navy vet eran of World War II.
