County Kitchen
The Lakeside Home Demonstra
tion Club met Tuesday evening in
the County Kitchen with Miss Kate
Phillips and Mrs. Sam Queen. Jr
as hostesses. Mrs. Wayne Franklin
president, presided and gave the
devotional.
Announcements were made re
garding coming events of interest
to the members and plans were
made for the club to participate In
the Flower Show sponsored by the
Richland Garden Club.
Project leaders reporting were
Mrs. Wayne Corpening, Mrs. J. g.
Harrell, Mrs. Rudolph Carswell,
Mrs. Ed Glavich, Mrs. Franklin,
and Miss Phillips.

ceremony. The vows were spoken
before the altar, which w.s decor

branched candelabra.
A program of wedding musie was
presented by John C. Wood, organ
it. Mrs. Wood, Mrs Arthur Smith,
and Mr. Wilson Medford. soloists.
The bride, who was given In mar
nage by her brother-in-law Lt
William G. Allen of Craig Air
Force Base. Alabama, wwe a gown
of Chantilly lace made with a
basque waist, a marquisette yoke
and a full skirt falling Into a cir
cular train. Her chapel length veil
of French illusion was attached to
an ivory satin hemet edged with a
halo of lilies of the valley. She car
ried a bouquet of white roses, cen
tered with a white orchid.
Mrs. William G. Allen, of Salem
Ala , sister of the bride, was ma
tron of honor. She wore pilu-ri
of chartreuse marquisette and a
headdress of flowers. She carried
a nosegay of spring flowers.
Bridesmaids were Miss Rachel
Ann Sutton of S.vlva and Miss Joo!
Vhenell Galloway of Rosman. Thev
wore orchid marquesette gowns I
identical to that of the matron of
honor, headdress of flowers and
carried nosegays of spring flowers.
Yvonne Allen of Selma, Ala., and
Deborah Mincey of Cullowhee,
nieces of the bride, were flower-
girls. They wore floor length dres
ses of white organdy and carried
baskets of rose petals.
J. R. Turner. Jr, of Waynesville
served as best man. Ushers were v.
M. Gray of Canton and J. T. Paint
er of Gastonia.
The bride's mother wore a dress
of navv chiffon and corsauc of rose
carnations. The bridegroom's moth
er was attired in a navy lace dress
with a corsage of pink carnations.
Mrs. Painter is a graduate of
Cullowhee High School and attend
ed Western Carolina Teachers Col
lege for two years, and Cecil's
Business College in Asheville.
Mr. Painter Is a graduate of
Western Carolina Teachers College
where he received his B. S. degree
in music and is now employed with
the Bethel District of Haywood
County Schools.
Following the ceremony, a recep
tion was held at the home of the
bride's mother.
After the reception, the couple
left for a wedding trip North. For
traveling, the bride wore a lilac
hncn two-piece dress with navy
accessories and the orchid from her
bouquet. Upon their return, they
will make their home in Waynes
