The Canton company is perhaps the greatest user of sul phur in this area. ; Since 1907 the United States has been the world's chief exporter of sulphur, supplying in recent years more than 90 per cent of the mar ket demand. Sulphur is so impor tant to Industry that there is, scarcely a manufactured article into whose production it does hot enter at some stage. The present shortage was not un expected. Last year, of a total of 5,441,000 long tons of American sulphur, 241,000 had to be taken from stockpiles, the early exhaus tion of which is expected. Sulphur In its native state oc curs in three forms; in deposits around volcanoes as in Japan, Java, and Chile; in sedimentary beds, of which the largest known are in Sicily and Russia, although' smaller deposits are known and worked to some extent in many parts of the world, including our own states of California, Colorado, Nevada, and Wyoming; and in the caps of the DiMaggioT, Perennial A) I NEW YORK ' holds a Perfect '"1 vcaiiia since he nt. t wi.., " enI T "mn Catty" Joe to the lQii , "th time' He Ij. the 1943 ana mlt ed and there was due to war travel !.' .
