C. farm bureau and the Agricultural Foun dation Inc., are cooperating in the 'state-wide prorgam, and F. Y. Floyd of the AF has announced a Jreferendum to be-held on Novem !ber 3. The referendum is held under authority of an act passed !by the 1951 general assembly and farmers will vote on a proposal to 'contribute five cents per ton on all feeds and fertilizers they buy. A large work bus ran at convenient hours of the day and night, and many thanks are expressed to Bennie Worlev for his cooperation. Patrolmen Make 25 Arrests Over Week-end Hpaw traffic over the Labor Day pnd keDt the Highway patrol busy, with 25 arrests being made. Four motorists were charged witn driving drunk; 2 with reckless driv ing; 3 speeding, and 16 came un der the heading of miscellaneous improper equipment, o operator's license, and gutted mufflers. All violators were cited into court. ' Important Meeting Will Bo Hold At Cecil Tomorrow MRS. J. EDGAR BURNETTE Mountaineer Reporter An important meeting will be held tomorrow night at 7:30 at Cecil School, to elect a beauty queen for the Pigeon Valley Fair on September 28 - 29. The person selected will represent Cecil at the Fair. '. : - Another highly important item of business will be the selection of three community pilot farms on the order of the demonstration farm program. Persons to be se lected must give assurance mat they will carry out recommended practices suebested bv the Experi ment Station, Extension Service, and others. A representative of the County Agent's office will be present. Oualifications to be considered include: average size farm; fanner and wife of average age and family; and a plan for farm and home over the years that is suited to the in dividual family.
