Adams at tended Waynesvllle , Township High School and worked at the Junaluska Supply Company prior to his induction. Beaverdam CDP To Meet Tuesday MRS. GEORGE F. WORLEY Mountaineer Reporter The regular monthly meeting of the Beaverdam Community Devel opment Program will be held at the Beaverdam school on Tuesday nighf. Everyone is urged to come out and take part. The Rev. Mr. W. ,7. Pless preach ed his last sermon at the Beaver dam Methodist Church Sunday night to an overflowing hous Mr, Pless is retiring from active Ser vice on account of ill health. Ht has been pastor of this church sev eral different times and has accom plished a great deal. The Rev. Coleman Brown and his congregation from the Beaver dam Baptist Church were present Sunday night. The Methodist peo ple appreciate this and want to ex tend a welcome to them to come back at any time. , Mr. Brown continues to do splen did work. He and his congregation will soon have their new church completed. They have a good crowd at pray er meeting each Wednesday night. Preaching services arc held at 11 Lo'cloek, and Sunday School at 10 r i. u o i u i Long's Branch Church members want to invite, again, everyone who will to come to the all-day meeting at the Old Bear Wallow Sunday. This week they are working on the road that leads on into the moun tains from the church. They are expecting a good time and a lot of people to attend who used to attend the Old Bear Wallow Church years ago. Prayer meeting is held at Long's Branch Church each Thursday night. : The Service Club will hold its regular monthly meeting Friday night, October 5, at the home of Mrs. Helen Lowe. All members are urged to be present. Mrs. Grace Trantham and child ren Sandra and Michael of Pasa dena, Texas, visited relatives in Beaverdam Thursday. They have been guests of Mrs. Trantham's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Gomcr Wil son of Canton. Nathan West of Charlotte visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. G. West, over the week end. Mr. and Mrs. Uay Whitted and daughter Martha are moving from Sukchon wilh high explosive bombs and rockets. Liner recalled, "The clouds were hanging pretty low and it was raining hard, so we had to get down low to find the tar get." After locating the rails the speedy jets dived again and again unleashing their deadly cargo. "After I made my last pass, I looked back and saw where my bombs had ripped into the rails. There was debris all over the place and the railroad was definitely out of order." It. Liner graduated from high school in Waynesville in 1947. For two years he was employed by the Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company of Newport .News, Va. Ho entered the Air Force in 1948 and received his pilot's wings and commission lir" 1951" at "Will lams Air Force-Base, Ariz. , He is the son of Mrs. Mary W: Liner of Route 1. The community regrets their leaving, as they are good neighbors.
