Philip did so, asking the man
if he understood what he was
reading. He answered, "How can
I, except some man should guide
me?" and he asked Philip to
climb up in the chariot and sit
with him.
The eunuch was reading "He
was led as a lamb to the slaugh
ter; end like a lamb dumb before
his shearer, so opened He not his
mouth: In His humiliation His
judgment was taken away: and
who shall declare His generation ?
for His life is taken from the
earth." i
"Then Philip opened his mouth
and began at the same Scripture,
and preached unto him Jesus."
Jesus it was, Philip explained,
who was "led like a lamb to the
slaughter," and he, Philip, was
taking His message to all who
would listen since the Lord was
taken to heaven. ; ,'
. , Coming to some water, the
eunuch asked what would prevent
him from being baptized? Philip
said there was nothing to prevent
it if he really believed with all
his heart. The man answered, "I
believe that Jesus Christ is the
son of God," and he stopped his
retinue beside the water and was
baptized. )
Philip, in case you have forgot
ten, was one of seven good men.

"Lift up thine eyes round

themselves together, they come to

far, and thy daughters shall be

Promising to come to the Ro
mans as soon as possible, Paul
wrote to them that he now must
go to Jerusalem to "minister unto
the saints."
These saints of the church were
in want, and Paul wrote the Ro
mans, that contributions for them
had come from as far away as
Macedonia and Achaia, "Yea, it
hath been their good pleasure;
fend their debtors they are. For if
the Gentiles have been made par
takers of their spiritual things,
they Owe it to them (the saints)
also to minister unto them in
carnal things."
Brothers all, you see, and Jews
and Gentiles, and now all the
earth can share in the good tid
ings peoples of whom no one
had heard in the time of Philip,
Peter and Paul.

And it isn't just "the religious point-of-view," as others
