LILIUS JEWELER Waynesville Six homes in the community will be open to the public Tuesday af ternoon and evening for a Holiday House Tour planned by the Rich land Garden Club. ' ' " The homes to be visited, in or der named, are those of Mrs. T. Lenoir, Gwyn, Miss Lois Harrold, Mrs. Rufus Siler, Mrs. J. M, Long, Mrs. Bill Prevost, and Mrs. Joe Rose.'' Each hostess is planning a spe cial Christmas feature to be ex hibited along with table, window, mantel, and outside decorations. A charge of 75 cents will be made for the complete tour and tickets may be purchased at the Chamber of Commerce, Liner Real Estate, or at the home of Mrs. Gwyn. Visitors are asked to call from 3 to 5 o'clock in the after-, noon and from 7:30 until 9:30 o'clock in the evening. . . Organizations to Pi Woman ' Of The Year The "Woman of the Year" in the Waynesville area will be selected Wednesday at a meeting in the commissioners' room at the court house at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Her name, however, will not be disclosed until Saturday night at a round dance to be sponsored by the Waynesville B.&P.W. Club. The "Woman of the Year" will be selected by representatives of 15 women's clubs and organizations. ' , Cornwell Club Meets For Dinner The Cornwell Club, of.Saunook held its' annual Christmas party in the form of a dinner Friday even ing in the school cafeteria. Mrs. James McClure presided and plans were made for the new year., . ; .. Miss Mary Cornwell gave the demonstration on "Planning For, Christmas." after which gifts were' exchanged. Y Mrs. Steve Plemmons conducted the ' devotional and Mrs. Charles Beck led the singing of Christmas carols. . , ". '''': Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hyatt of John son City, Tenn., are here to spend the holidays with the former's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Hyatt Mrs. Ray And Mrs. Seaver Are D.A.R. Hostesses The December meeting of the Dorcas Bell Love Chapter, Daugh ters of the American Revolution was held Friday afternoon in the home of Mrs. Clyde Ray. Mrs. J. W. Seaver was associate hostess and Mrs. James It. Boyd, regent, presided. Miss Mary Reed Moore of Can ton was welcomed as a new mem ber by transfer from the Andrew Jackson, Chapter of Calladega, Ala bama. ' . ' Mrs. J. H. Howell, Sr. presented a Christmas program. She read the Christmas story from Luke and gave a history of Christmas plants, j explaining how they came into use. She then introduced Miss Nancy Francis, a member of the senior class of the Waynesville High School, who sang, "O Holy Night," accompanied by Stanford Massie. Mrs.' Kate' Morris reviewed the president general's message from the D.A.R. magazine. Miss Betty Felmet, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Jack Felmet, who will represent the chapter in the annual D.A.R. Good Citizenship contest, was introduced. Miss Felmet, a senior in the Waynesville High School, will compile .a scrapbook of her school, church, and commun ity activities to be judged with similar books entered by girls rep resenting all chapters in the state. At the close of the meeting the hostesses entertained with a tea. The tea table was centered with am epergne holding an arrange ment of red carnations and pine, and the red and green motif was carried out In the refreshments. Mrs. Ben Colkitt presided at the coffee service and Mrs. T. Lenoir Gwyn served. Guests for the afternoon were Mrs. Joseph Taylor, Mrs. J. W. Mr, and Mrs. Robert Hugh Clark arrived last week to spend Christ mas with the former's mother, Mrs. Dee-Clark, and other rela tives.
