Wild Bill Elliott Coming In Exciting Screenplay Wild Bill Elliott's latest starring' production for Allied Artists, "The Maverick." with Myron Healey and Phyllis Coates in top supporting roles, will be the next feature at traction at the Strand theatre, opening on Wednesday, in this one Elliott plays tile part of a lieutenant in the United States cav alry, assigned to lead a small troupe of mounted soldiers against a gang of gunmen, hired by ruth less cattle barons to drive the homesteaders from the range country. It is the type of role in which Elliott excels. His portrayals of the heroic western characters are always true to the popular con cept, and for this reason his fol lowing has increased constantly. In "Tile Maverick" he heads a large and talented featured cast in cluding such favorites, other than Healey and Miss Coates, as Rich ard Reeves, Terry Frost, Rand Brooks, Russell Hicks, Robert Bray and Florence I-ake, the latter play ing an indomitable old iady who joins Wild Bill's cavalry forces in a climactic gun fight. The picture was produced in se pia tone for Allied Artists by Vin cent M. Alumni of all three in stitutions throughout the western part of the State and the general public are invited to attend. I believe that the nunjber (eight) of the operating rooms and the up to-date equipment will impress the visitors about as much as any thing in the hospital. It would be practicallv impos sible for the changes that have been made without adding to the medical staff. Dr. Alan K. Brown, a roentgenologist, is in charge of the expanded X-ray department, I and Dr. Sims S. Hindman heads the pathology department, which did not exist at all in the old hos pital. The hospital should indeed give the people of Haywood County a feeling of satisfaction. Except for the larger units in some of the State's leading cities, Haywood's 1 medical center places the county on a par with any in North Caro i lina.
