Egg noodles sautAed to a golden Drown and tapped with poached eggs and mellow Mornay sauce make a nice luncheon or supper special Over Direct Beat For 6 servings, prepare I 02 medlu/n egg noodles according to : package directions, in top of double boiler over direct heat, melt % c. butter or margarine. Add 6 tbsp all-purpose flour, tsp dry mustard and dash of cay enne; blend well Gradually add 2"? c milk and cook until thick ened. stirring constantly. Add 2 (1-02.1 wedges Grueyere cheese, diced, stirring until melted Place over boiling water to keep warm In a skillet, melt Vi c. butter over medium heat; add cooked, drained noodles and saut? until golden brown Top each serving of j sauteed noodles with a poached egg and cheese sauce. Leftover Baked Ham Ham and Spaghetti 8klllet Is an excellent way to use up tag ' ends of a baked ham. and It's a dish nice enough for company. To serve 4-6, prepare 6 oa. spaghetti according to direction*. In a large, heavy skillet, heat S tbsp olive otl over low heat; add Vt c. chopped onion and 2 tbsp. chopped green pepper and sautd until tender. Add 2 c. cubed, cooked ham; cook until lightly browned. Stir in No. 2H can to matoes, "? tap. each garlic aalt and marjoram, '/? tap. oregano, tfc tap. salt, tap sugar and Vi tap. freshly ground pepper; cook over low heat Id minutes. Crated Cheddar Cheese Add cooked spaghetti and one c. grated Cheddar cheese Stir gently to mix. Continue cooking 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. 8prinkle with tbsp. Parmesan cheese and serve. For a nice macaroni dish, pre pay* 6 oz elbow macaroni ac cording to directions, in a large bowl combine 4 beaten eggs; 2 c. chopped, cooked carrots, ? c. chopped green pepper, tbsp grat ed onion, tap salt, % tsp pepper, 2 tbsp melted butter and 1V3 c. milk, mixing thoroughly. Add cooked macaroni; mix lightly. Turn Into greased 9x5x3-tnch loaf pan. Place In pan of hot water. Bake at 350" F. for 70 min utes, or until loaf Is firm. Unmold and slice to serve. Convention Waynesviile residents who at tended the New World Society As sembly of Jehovah's Witnesses in New York City reported an en thusiastic convehtion with more than 132.000 in total attendance. Those who drove from here I through the scenic roads of Vir ginia. Maryland. Delaware and New Jersey are Mr. and Mrs Mrs. Henry H Curtiss; Mr. and Mrs. E. O. Robinson with their I daughters from Florida and Tay lors. S. C.: Mrs. C. R. Hyatt and daughter Virginia: Mrs. Edith Smith and son Marvin: Mrs. May Bures: Mrs. E. J. Moody and daughter: Mrs. Inez Jaynes; and Mrs. A. M. Eckenrod. The New York Herald-Tribune wrote on its editorial page: "Jeho vah's Witnesses bring some friend ly. pleasant faces to New York, and when the members of the religious faith gather in Yankee stadium ?t is an awesome sight. More than 80,000 people were present at the Stadium for the opening rally a crowd which the stadium has sel dom seen. This tremendous out pouring is an impressive sight fuenJ,? peop,e wh0 do no' share the Witnesses' beliefs. But Yankee stadium has never seen a more or derly crowtf, and the diamond was tastefully, decorated with potted plants and a golden harp.** The Witnesses heard a report by J,2J graduates the Watchtow er Bible School's 21st class Thev represented 28 different lands with almost as many languages. Highlight of the convention was the baptismal service at which 4 - 640 converts were immersed in the Riverside Cascade Swimming Pool .This service was witnessed bv about 132,000 people. The organ ization rented the pool for $1,000 for a 4-hour period and paid $100 | for the one extra hour that was needed.
