The Christian's Use of Possessions ILLUSTRATED SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON >/*???> j i...<h.r
???- Scripture?Luke 12:M-23| I Timothy
I ^ by Kn>| fmuw Hk*- |
Jesus told a parable about a man whose
harvests were so rich that he decided to
store his goods and take life easy, but
God told him that he would die that
night, so his riches would do him no
good.
Jesus then told His disciples that they
should take no thought for the morrow,
for "he that layeth up treasure for him
self Is not rich toward God. The life is
tmore than meat, and the body is more
than raiment."
, ?
Paul wrote to Timothy that "having
food and raiment let ua be therewith
content, but they that will be rlch'fall
into temptation and a anare, and into
many fooliah and harmful luata, which
drown men in deatruction and perdition."
"But thou, O man of God, , . . light the
good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal
life, whereunto thou are alao called, and '
hast professed before many witnesses,"
Paul urged Timothy.

We pause this one day a year
to pay tribute to the producing
force of our nation . . . The
mechanic, the carpenter, the
bricklayer, the skilled and the
unskilled worker.
The man next door, the fellow across the street, the girl down
the block . . . they've made America the wealthiest nation on
earth. Let us offer our congratulations to America's workers
not only for the m?ny wonderful things they have helped pro
duce for our need, but also for the role they play in creating
that free society. Proud of their accomplishments, staunch in
the defense of their rights, American workers are as beacons
to the world. To these men and women we offer our apprecia
tive "thank you" on this Labor Day.
