Miss Sara Lee Clark, who is at in Mission Hospital at Asheville. Miss Iva Ann Deaver celebrated a birthday this week. Mr. and Mrs. Loyde Justice vis ited their son. Eugene Justice, and family in Memphis, Tenn., this past week end. Charlie Messer was honored with a birthday dinner and gifts by his children, grandchildren and friends last Sunday at his home. A large crowd attended. His Sun I day School class of Louisa Chapel j gave Mr. Messer a gift, and some 'of the class went with him home | from church to help "celebrate the j ? affair. White Oak CDP Date Changed To October 10 Bv MRS. GEORGE BORING Community Reporter Due to a heavy fog and rain on the last meeting right of the White Oak CDP. the program was post poned until this Saturday night. October 10th, at the Community House. Despite the weather sev eral folks came to 4heir meeting and many cans were collected for the "Pounding and Can" shower. Additional ones are expected to be added to this number at the meet ing Saturday. The ladies will bring cake for refreshments. The White Oak Home Demon stration Club will meet Wednes-' nay, October 14, at the home of. Mrs. Joe Davis. This will be a copper workshop and members tending W.C.C., visited her par ents Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Clark over theaweekend. , , la ? Miss Linda Wood and Mrs. Claude Broyles were in Charlotte for a few days to attend the Beau tician School. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Clark, Mrs. John Broyles, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Broyles and children all re ported a wonderful time as they returned from Franklin and Hayes ville where they attended a Sing ing Convention. Miss Ann Worley visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Worley, over the weekend. Ann is attend ing W.C.C. She was a resident of th? Green Hill section, near Canton at the time of her death. Mrs. Vinson Plemmons remain; in a critical condition at the Bap tist Hospital in Winston-Salen where she recently underwent sur gery. The friends of Gaston Rhyme; regret to learn of his illness. Jane Driver, daughter of Mr anc Mrs Bill Driver, is reported to b< doing nicely at the Haywooc County Hospital where she under went surgery. She is the grand daughter of Mrs. Marie Bell. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Phillips art on a two weeks vacation trip tc California. Mr. and Mrs. George Worley. Evs Jane. David Ashe, and Mrs. Mirah Wilson enjoyed a picnic at Bent Creek Sunday. Wilford Clark is now a patient at Moore General Hospital. should bring an old pair of worl gloves. While here, she and the' Borings and Mr. and Mrs Robert Davis motored to FrankRr to visit a former resident of St Petersburg, Miss Addie Brewer. A picnic lunch was enjoyed in the Smokies. C., October 23 to 25, sponsored by The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Brooklvn, N. Y. r. ? , ^ The convention, which will be held in the Ball Room of the Calhoun Hotel on Fridav and Saturday and in the State Theater Sunday, Is for Bible instruction and concen trated gospel-prcachlne in this area, spokesmen Tor the group an nounced today. Anderson has been the site of other like assemblies of Jehovah's Witnesses in recent years. A similar circuit meeting, rep resenting twentv-ont> congregations was held in October of last year at Shelby. Several hundred Jehovah's Witnesses attended. It is expected that upward of five hundred dele gates will attend this assembly. I W. A. Elrod and W. J. Sims of Brooklyn. N. Y.. will be the feat ured speakers of the event and will appear on the program all three days. W. A. Elrod will de liver the main public address at S p.m. Sunday. October 25th.
