Richland Garden Club Meet With Mrs. Parkman A regular meeting of the Rich land Garden Club was held Thurs day in the home of Mrs. Roy Park man with Mrs. M. G. Stamey and Mrs. J. R. Boyd as associate hostesses. A buffet luncheon was served prior to the meeting with Mrs. Guy Massie and Mrs. W. L. Khk patrick presiding at the dining table. The table was decorated with an arrangement of fruit. Miss Louise Ballard, district di rector of garden clubs, presented the program, conducting a question and answer period showing the his tory and purpose of the National Council of Garden Clubs. Miss Lou Elva Eller, president, presided during the business hour and reports were given by commit tee chairmen. Mrs. J. M. Long, chairman of the Holiday House Tour, present ed plans for that event to be held on December 17. Miss Ballard announced plans for the early spring flower show 'o be held by the club. She stated that the show will feature flower ing branches, bulbs, and potted plants and will be open to all grow ers without regard to membership in a garden club. Mrs. W. F. Swift, club represent ative on the Waynesville Council of Garden Clubs, announced that the council will sponsor a lecture on Gardening by Mrs. Arch Walker of Spartanburg next March. The club voted to continue its annual project of making Christ mas tray arrangements for patients at the Haywood Cbunty Hospital, and announcement was made that the four garden clubs in the com munity will share in keeping flower arrangements in the Haywood County Library. SAM MEDFORD (Ratcliffe Cove Community) APPLE, RASPBERRY JELLY 6 cups apple juice 4 cups sugar 1 package of Raspberry Jell-o Let juice boil down to half, then add sugar, and cook until thick. Dissolve jell-o in hot water and add to jelly; stir well; bring to boil again and take off stove. Stir again for five minutes and pour into glasses. This can be made with different flavors of jell-o. Dance Will Feature Accordion Artist The ''Woody" Rhoo.es Combo, starring Fritz Albertson, accord ion artist, will be the feature at traction at the Thanksgiving dance to be held at the Elk's Hall, Thursday, November 26. Long entertained with a bridge luncheon Friday in the home of Mrs. Prevost. The Thanksgiving motif was used in decorations and appoint ments and six tables were arrang ed for the games. Chambers, and Mrs. Claude Walker will pick the girls up at school tomorrow morning at 8:30 o'clock and will take them to the Court House where Sheriff Fred Campbell will conduct a tour of the building. The group will then attend the morning session of Superior Court and afterward will go to The Lodge for luncheon. The afternoon program includes visits to the new Telephone Build ing where J. R. Lane has completed four weeks of basic training at Fort Jackson and serves as squadron leader. He is a graduate ? of St John's Hleh School and attended Georgia Tech last year. * * * Miss Madge Alexander, who teaches in an Atlanta school, will arrive Wednesdav to spend the Thanksgiving holidays with her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hooper Al Rector's Guild Will Meet With Miss Eller The Rector's Guild of Grace Episcopal Church will hold a reg ular heeting Tuesday night at 8 p.m. with Miss Lou Elva Eller as hostess at the Waynesville Coun-1 try Club. Mr. and Mrs. H. D. Lutz left Thursday for Del and, Florida where they will spend the winter. They stopped en route to visit in Jacksonville. * * * Mrs. Selma Jones, formerly of Middlel.ury College, Middlebury, Vt.. has arrived to spend the win ter with Miss Ethel McCoy at Camp Junaluska. Beta Sigma Phi Will Meet Friday Night The Beta Sigma Phi sorority will meet in the Court House Fri day night at 7:30 o'clock. Mr&.
