WCC Win Offer 57 Courses At Summer Program A tolal of 57 courses in 18 sub ject areas and nine instructional departments will be offered for i undergraduates in the 1854 sum mer program at Western Carolina College, it has been announced by Dean W. E. Bird, director of the school. Approximately 40 courses will serve the needs of graduate stu dents, Among these courses will be a full schedule, not before available, for graduate students in the field of health and physical! education. In the undergraduate program courses leading to bachelor of science degrees will be offered in business, education and psychol ogy, English, fine and industrial arts, health and physical educa tion, mathematics, modern foreiRn languages, science and social sciences will be given. A combined faculty of 61 in structors will serve for both ses sions. The summer term will open June 7, the first session will end July 16 and the second session will conclude on August 27. Pvt. Ray Completes Radio Course In Japan Army Pvt. Thomas M. Ray, whose wife lives on Route 3. Waynesville, recently completed the high-speed radio operator course at the Eta Jima Specialist School in Japan. The 14-week course, one of many available to U. S. and Allied mili tary personnel, offers training in the operation and maintenance of radio commuications equipment. Private Ray, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Wagenfleld, Waynesville, en tered the Army in 'October, 1952 and arrived overseas last Novem ber. N. C. Nurses To Meet Wednesday In Asheville District 1 of the North Carolina Slate Nurses' Association will meet Wednesday, April 14, at 4 p.m. at Appalachian Hall, Asheville. Doctors William Ray Griffin, Jr , and Mark Griffin, Jr., will present the newer trends in psychiatry and treatment. All interested registered nurses are invited to attend.
