Buescher i Scripture?I King> 11:1?13:24. ? - i 3-3 ii ^ ^ rjjKmuLE&fMMv ~'i When Solomon was old he turned from the worship of Jehovah berause his many wives were idol worshipers, and he be came one. The L?r<J was angry and told the king that after his death the greater part of the kingdom would be taken. away. A young man named Jeroboam was "a mighty man of valor," and Solomon, see ing that he was industrious, gave linn charge over the house of Joseph. But Jeroboam was not true to King Solomon, and he "lifted up his hand against the king." i > ? K 1 ?: >^ | n Outside Jerusalem Jeroboam met the frophet Ahijah. Ahijah was wearing a new garment, and he caught hold of it and tore it into 12 piecas. He gave 10 pieces to Jeroboam to keep, saying that they represented 10 tribes over which he would rule. Solomon grew to hate Jeroboam and sought to kill him. He fled to Egypt, but when Solomon died, he returned. The people of the 10 tribes rebelled against Rehoboam's hard rule and made Jero boam their king. MEMORY VERSE?I Kings 11:38. 1 - _ Crabtree Methodist Charge Rev. A. R. Davis.
