Zion Church By MARY BLAYLOCK Community Reporter The Bible School started Mon day night at the Mt. Zion church. The school is being held during the evening in order that more adults will have an opportunity to attend. Attendance is very good, with 135 enrolled. Rev. Thomas E. Erwin. the pas tor, is teaching the adults. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bumgamer and two children of Charlotte, are spending a few-days with Mrs. Bumgarner's parents. Mr. and Mrs. Claude Deaver. Sgt. Junior and Mrs. Sorrells visited Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Smith, parents of Mrs. Sorrels, over the weekend. They returned to their home in Greenville Monday, and will have as their guests for a week. Miss Mary Ellen Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Blaylock have bought the home of Thurman Owen in Smoky Cove. They have moved into their new home, and Mr. Owen has moved to Canton. TOM CURTIS, son of Mr. and Mrs. Zeb Curtis of Waynesville. will receive the Bachelor of Sci ence Degree in Pharmacy at com mencement exercises at the Uni versity of North Carolina next Monday night. Curtis is a member of Kappa Psi, pharmaceutical fraternity, and has served as a member of the executive committee of the North Carolina Pharmaceutical Associa-! tion, Student Branch. During his first year at the University, he was a member of the Glee Club. Following graduation, he will be associated with his father in the Curtis Drug Store.
