Bryson-Hines Wedding Plans Are Announced Mildred Harrell Bryson, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. James Stan ley Harrell has completed the plans for her marriage to Or. Harold Brinklev Mines, son of Mr and Mrs. Jacob Arthur Hines of Walnut, Miss. The ceremony will take place Saturday, June 26. at 5 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. T. E. Robinett, pastor of the church will officiate and the wed ding music will be presented by Miss Florrie Patrick, organist, and Mrs. Fred Campbell and Mrs. Charles Klopp, vocalists. Lunchroom Managers Get Certificates Ten Haywood County school lunchroom mmagers received cer tificates at the close of a workshop at the Woman's College of the Uni versity of North Carolina in Greensboro last week. Those receiving certificates were Mrs. Minnie Sutton. Maggie School; Mrs. Bonnie Hampton. Waynesville High School; Mrs. Agnes Calhoun. Hazclwood School; Mrs. Caldonia Sutton, Aliens Creek; Mrs. Myrtle Arrington, East Waynesville; Mrs. Kate Ter rell. Bethel; Mrs. Grady Farmer. Central Elementary; -Mrs. Tilda Brown. Fines Creek; Mrs. Ray mond Swayngim. Lake Junaluska: and Mrs. Vera Reeves. Rock Hill. The certificates were presented on completion of a training course which extended over a period of | three summers. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white marquisette over satin, fashion ed with a fitted bodice and full skirt which extended into a chapel train. Her fingertip Veil was attached to a cap of Chaatilly lace trimmed with seed pearls and she carried a white prayer book topped witli a white orchid and valley lilies. The bride's table was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake and white flowers were used in decorating. The couple left for a short wed ding trip after which they will re side in Texas. Army, in a candlelight ceremony in the First Methodist Church, Saturday evening at 8 o'clock. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph C. Hswell of Waynesville. The Rev. Earl H. Brendall, pas tor of the church, performed the double ring service. Aprogram of music was present ed by Mr,s. Fred Calhoun, organ ist, and Miss Mozelle Liner, solo ist. The church was decorated w ith Oregon fern interspersed with sunburst arrangements of white gladioli and baby's breath and seven branched candelabra. Given in marriage by her broth er, John Ezell, Jr., the bride wore a gown of white Swiss embroider ed organdy over taffeta, fashioned with a fitted bodice and sweet heart neckline. The tiered bouf fant skirt extended into a chapel train and her two-tiered veil of French illusion was attached to a Juliet cap of seed pearls and orange blossoms. She carried an old fashioned nosegay of white roses and her only ornament was a strand of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom. Mrs. Jess Crouser, Jr.. sister of the bride, was matt on of honor and only attendant. She wore a full length dress of mint green or gandy, designed with fitted bodice and tiered skirt. Her heardress was a matching pleated organdy halo and she carried a nosegay of mixed summer flowers. Shelley, Greensboro, was installed Saturday night as secretary of the Methodist Wesley an Service Guild, Western North Carolina Conference, at the group's annual meeting at Lake Junaluska She succeeds Miss Annabel Thompson, also of Greensboro, who i presided over the sessions at the Methodist assembly grounds. Miss Thompson, who has headed the or ganization for four years, becomes associate secretary. The secretaryship is the highest office of the guild, composed of em ployed members of the Woman's! Society of Christian Service. More than 225 delegates attended the meeting, representing 4,622 mem bers of 155 guilds in the confer ence. In their annual pledge service WSG members subscribed $38,000 to the world-wide program of the Woman's Division of the Methodist Board of Missions. The pledge last year was $27,459, plus $15,000 rais ed for social relations and local church activities. "Guild members are Christian women who go about their daily tasks in the work-a-day world rub bing shoulders with people of all types, creeds and color . . . our aim is to stir a desire in all of them to make Jesus Christ the way," Miss Thompson said in her annual report. The guild ended its meeting Sun day morning with the observance of Holy Communion in Memorial Chapel, and a sacrificial offering to help build a Methodist home in Korea for teen-age girls.
