DEATHS MISS EMMA COOK Miss Emma Cook. 74, died Wed nesday at 10 a.m. in her home in | : the Morning Star community after' a brief illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, a i member of the Morning Star Meth- j | odist Church and a daughter of the late Frances and Susan Fowler' Cook Surviving are two brothers. Haynes, Haywood Native, Dies In Inman ? j I Clarence Baxter Haynes, 72, not ed educator of Inman, S. C? died I Thursday night in Spartanburg General Hospital after an illness of several months. Mr. Haynes was norn in Hay wood County, the son of the late M. I-. and Addie Jones Haynes. His paternal grandfather was Posey Haynes of Fines Creek and his maternal grandmother was I'eggj MeCraeken of Crabtree. lb received his A.B. degree from the University of South Carolina if) 1008 and immediately began a long and outstanding career in pub lie school education. He served as superintendent ot Inman schools for 30.years before retiring in 1947. Mr. Haynes was an active charter i member of the Inman Rotary Club |an<l had served several times as a member of the board of deacons of Inman Baptist Church.
