Rory Calhoun
Thrills Fans
In 'Tomahawk'
The most important ingredients
in a Western* movie are action and
adventure. So, when you add an
off-beat story with many twists
and no little surprise for an In
dian-white man saga, you've got
what it takes. And that's what
makes "The Yellow Tomahawk,"
he United Artists release starring
itory Calhoun and Peggie Castle
i fine movie of the great days
vhen the American west was torn
jotween peace with the various
'ndian tribes or perpetual local
vars.
The story concerns itself with
he breaking of a peace-pact be
ween certain of the Cheyennes
hrough treachery on both sides.
Rory Calhoun, Indian scout with
i deep knowledge of the strong
and rough Wyoming country which
he rides, keeps a hilltop rendez
vous with a young Cheyenne,
'Fire Chief" and learns of a plan
of the Cheyennes to resume war
against the whites because of the
slaughter of members of their
tribe by the Major in command of
U. S. Cavalry forces encamped at
Sand Creek. "Fire Chief" gives
Calhoun a war hatchet, its blade
Jaubel in yellow paint w hich is to
be given to the Major as warning.
From there on the action and ad
venture comes thick and fast with
in interesting complication which
brings Peggie Castle into the
hick of the story
The photography of this wonder
ful Utah Kanab country, where
| the picture was filmed, is worth
the price of admission. Add to this'
the fact that the Indians do bite
acts and looks like a man who
knows his way around and you've
the dust, that the Indian Scout
got an outdoor picture to give the
blood a little extra tingle.
There are only about 100,000 cars
and trucks in operation in the lie
public of Indonesia.
