Smith, 76, lifelong resident of Haywood County, died Monday night in the Haywood County hospital after a long ill ness. She was the former Ella Haynes, daughter of the late Henry and Elizabeth Anderson Haynes, and was a member of the First Baptist Church. Her husband who was engaged in the plumbing busi ness here, died several years ago. Funeral services were held Wed nesday afternoon in the First Bap tist Church with the pastor, the Rev. T. E. Robinett. officiating and burial was in Green Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy and Ray Haynes, Zimmery Reecc, Blaine Henson. Elgin Ledford. and Arthur College. Surviving are two brothers, H. B. and James Haynes of Canton, Route 2; one sister, Mrs. J. 11. Kuy kendall of Waynesville; and sev eral nieces and nephews. Arrangements were under the directio nof Garrett Funeral Home. . (To be continued). DEATHS j MRS. A. FRANK MILLER Mrs. A. Frank Miller of Spring Creek died Monday in her home following u brief illness. She was a native of Spring Creek, the j daughter of the late Tommy and , Sara Bright Case. Funeral services were held yes terday afternoon in Luck Chapel j Baptist Church with the Rev. Lush ! Rogers and the Rev. Dock Ressell officiating. Burial was in Bon-A Venture Cemetery. Pallbearers were Stewart Plem mons, William Dean Plemmons, William Justice, James Justice, Craig Miller, Wayneth Clark. Surviving are the husband: four sons. Olin of Canton, the Rev. J. Doyle Miller of Spring Creek. Don Miller of Route 1, Waynesville, and Melburn Miller of Waynes ville, Route 2; three daughters, Mrs. Fred Hannah of Canton, Mrs. Vernon Wells of Waynesville, Route 2, and Mrs. V. F. Clark of i Fines Creek; 28 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Crawford Funeral Home. M. H. SMATHERS M. H. (Margie) Smathers, 70, died at 1 a.m. today in the home of a brother, Girdwood Smathers, near Canton, following a brief ill ness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Haywood County, the son of the late Jasper and Mary Rhodartner Smathers. Funeral services will be held in 1 the Sunny Point Baptist Church Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. ^ Robert Swanger and the Rev. A. T. Medford officiating. Burial will be in Morning Star Cemetery. | The body will remain at Wells Funeral Home until ^0 minutes, prior to the service when it will lie in state at the church. !
