Brooks of 59 Wesley Street, Canton, be came the bride of William Churm, son of Mr. and Mrs. William S Churm of Dover. N. J., Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church in Canton. The Rev. Horace L. Smith, pas tor of the church, performed the ceremony. A program of wedding music was presented by Mrs. M. A. Harvey of Canton, organist, Miss Ann Winningham of Burligton and Gene Goodson of Canton, vocalists. Given in marriage by her fath er. the bride wore a gown of white nylon tulle over slipper satin, fash ioned with a finely pleated bodice and a bouffant skirt which fell into a chapel length train. The portrait neckline of alenoon lace was out lined with seed pearls and opal escent sequins. Her two tiered veil of imported French illusion was attached to a petal design shell hat accented with tiny pearls and se quins. She carried a white Bible topped with a white orchid. Miss Patsy Pearce of Saleniburg. N.C., was maid of honor. Mrs. Car roll Powell of Canton was Matron of Honor. Their gowns were of | Christmas' red velveteen and nylon net over taffeta. They wore shell , hats of matching velveteen, and carried bouquets of white poinset tias. Bridesmaids were: Miss Irma Smith, Miss Adrienne Smathers. Miss Barbara Moore, Mrs. William Savage, all of Canton, Miss Dorthy Brooks of Booneville, N.C., and Miss Brenda Eagles of Dover, N.J. Their gowns and hats were identi cal in design and color to that of the honor attendants. They also carried bouquets of white poinset tias. W. F. Churm, brother of the bridegroom, served as best man. A program of wedding music was presented by Miss Nancy Francis, pianist, and Miss Sara Jane Gar- j rison. soloist. The bouffant skirt was scalloped at the hem line and her two tiered veil of imported il lusion was attached to a coronet of lace and pearls. She Carried a white satin Bible topped with a white orchid and showered with shredded white carnations and satin streamers. Miss Elsie Palmer of Waynes ville was maid of honor and wore a dress of rose lace and net over. 1 taffeta. Her headdress was a coro net of rose lace and she carried a colonial bouquet of white roses, snapdragon and pompons. Bridesmaids were Miss Eliza- 1 both Ann Stiles of Waynesville, * sister of the bridegroom, and ? Miss Sybil Jean Beck, of Asheville. , cousin of the bride. Their dresses j were identical to that of the maid j . of honor and their headdresses ( were small hats of matching net. They carried colonial bouquets of pastel flowers. Elizabeth Ann Lackey, cousin of the bride, was flower girl. Her dress was of white taffeta and she carried a basket of pastel flowers. Andy Blanton served as best man and ushers were Charles Leatherwood and Joe Hipps. Mrs. Shuler, mother of the bride, wore an ice blue suit with black accessories and a corsage of pink roses. The mother of the bride groom wbre a gray suit with win ter white accessories and her cor sage was also of pink roses. For a wedding trip by car the bride wore a navy suit with navy accessories and the orchid detach ed from her Bible. Mrs. Stiles is a graduate of WaynesviUe Tow nship High School and Blanton's Business College. Asheville, She is now employed with Wellco Shoe Corporation. Mr. Stiles was also graduated from the Waynesville High School and for the past three years has served with the United States Air Force. He is presently stationed at Pine Castle. Florida. Davis of the class of 1954. Cecil Blanton and Rufus W. Summerrow are being ordained and installed as Deacons in the Class of 1956 replacing Deacons Ernest W. Greene and Lawson C.
