(Photo by Joe Davis) WNC100 Bushel Corn Club Plans Luncheon February 5 From all over Western North Carolina corn growers who pro duced 100 or more bushels of corn on a measured acre of land will meet at the George Vander^ bilt Hotel in Asheville at noon on February 5th for the annual 100 Bushel Corn Growers Lunchen by the Farmers Federation. A first prize of $100 will be a warded to the grower who harvest ed the largest number of bushels on a measured acre of land, it has been announced by James G. K. McClure. Federation President. The featured speaker at the Corn Growers luncheon will be Dean D. W. Colvard, Dean of the School of Agriculture at North Car olina State College in Raleigh. Dr. Emerson R. "Mr. Corn" Collins, State College agronomy specialist, who has attended many corn luncheons in the past, will al so be on the program. "Because our mountain soils are well suited to growing corn, a 100 bushel crop is within the reach of many farmers in this area, and each year we look forward to see ing many more members of the 100 Bushel Corn Club attend our luncheon."
