I Canton High Campus Cuffnotes By LINDA BRIGGS Canton High is ^lmost back to normal now since the S&niors have returned from Washington and re numed the old schedule. Talk i among the Seniors is still pre- , dominantly about their trip which will long be remembered. The fol lowing is a brief account of th< visit t0 Washington as told by Mil dred Duckett, one of the Senioi girls who made the trip: "Monday morning, March 28th BOB POOLE, popular radio ttar of WBIG tayt, "My wife has always used light Karo for cooking... and on the table?it's dark Karo for me, the best-tasting tHil eating syrup of 'em all" Yen, indeed...biscuits go like hot cakes when you pour on plenty of delicious dark Karo... there's nothing like it for good eating. Satis fy in' flavor. So rich it stands right up on top of biscuits (keeps 'em light and fluffy). Keep Karo on your table morning, noon and night ...it tops anything! Ask your grocer for DARK Karo, in pint and quart bottles CAUGHT IN BUS-TRUCK WRECK "MMIVf!'. m STATE HIGHWAY patrolmen and a passing motorist help Joan Walker from the wreckage of a Greyhound bus that crashed into the rear of a lumber truck near the Marin-Sonoma County Une In California. The driver of the bus was killed and 11 of his passengers were In jured. The vehicle was en route from San Francisco to Portland. found the Canton bus station crowded with jubilant seniors eag er to get started. Here it was at last, the Senior trip dreamed about all through the high school years. The enthusiasm subsided slightly during the long trip, only to burst forth again when the glowing lights of the capital city came into view late Monday night. The visit to the capitol building Tuesday morning marked the beginning of our offi cial tour. Among the numerous places of historical and national in terest we visited during our three day tour were the F.B.I. Building, the Capitol, the Museum of Natur al History, and the Lincoln Mem orial. During the week, new friend ships were established, unforget table incidents were stamped on our memories, and probably for years to come all who made the trip will smile when someone mentions an eyeball check, George Gobel, or points at them and says 'howdy'." While the Seniors were away, the Junior Class stepped into the spotlight. Not loitg ago the Juniors were measured for their Senior rings whic hwill arrive sometime next fall. The rings are a standard design and will be like the Senior rings this year. Plans for the Junior - Senior Prom, which will be held April 29th, are advancing rapidly. The Juniors are doing their best to keep these plans secret so that the biggest social event of the year will be a surprise for the Seniors in whose honor it is given. A large group of Freshmen and Sophomore girls were chosen last week to serve at the banquet. We thought they might let their guard ddwn and tell something. but they haven't, so the big questions are still unanswered. The student body wishes to ex press its thanks to the Student Council for the fine movies which have been shown in chapel this year All of us en loved seeing one of them in chapel last Friday. Dale Childers. vice-president of the Student Council, announced in chapel last Fridav that the Council is sponsoring a "No Waste" cam paien. This began last Monday morning and is divided into two divisions, conservation of student orooertv and conservat ion of school oronertv. A Poster contest is part of this campaign and three prizes will be awarded in both divisions.
