II Chronicles 21-24. 1' ' 11 ' Joash. infant son of Ahaslah, was hid den by hia aunt, when his brothers were slain. When he was seven years old, however, the priest Jehoiada and the princes, brought him out and crowned him king. King Joash wanted to repair the house of the Lord. He ordered the Levites to gather the money, but they were slow to do so. Joash chided them, then had a chest made and put at the temple gate and it was filled. When the chest was full the Levites took it to the king's office. Woikmen were hired and they "wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of Sod in His state, and strengthened it." When the repairs were finished the rest of the money was taken to the king and priest Jehoiada and they used it to have vessels of gold and silver made to furnish the temple.
