Mrs. Watkins, Mrs. Roberson Entertain Mr*. R S. Roberson and Mr*. Dan Watkins entertained at a cof fee hour Wednesday morning in the home of Mrs. Roberson in Grimball Park, honoring Miss Lane Prevail! whose marriage to James X. Swift will take place in June. A color scheme of green and white with accents of yellow was carried out in the flower arrange*, ments and in the refreshments. The dining room table was cen-. tered with a silver and crystal epcrgne Ailed with white snap dragon, white phlox, and yellow rosebuds. in the receiving line were the hostesses, the bride-elect and her mother and grandmother. Sixty guests were included in the courtesy. .Lakeside Club Visits South Clyde Club The South Clyde Club was hostess to the Lakeside Club at the home of Mrs. Thad Catliey this week. The guests were presented corsaffles of carnations which were made by hostess uthjer direction of Mrs; Glenn Allen and Mrs. Van Deavers. Mrs. Henry Osborne, president, was io charge of the meeting and welcomed gliests. The devotional on "FVieeidship" was given by Mrs. Van Denver*. Mrs. Ed Glavlch led group sing ing. Shaver of Canton. Miss Mehaffey was graduated from Waynesville High School and attended Baroness Erlanger School of Nursing and the University of Chattanooga. Mr. Shaver, a graduate of Can ton High School, received a B A degree in music education at East ern Kentui ky State College in Richmond, Ky. He is now stationed at Ft. Sill. Oklahoma with the 97th Army Band. The wedding will take place in June in the First Baptist Church in Canton. * * * Betty Owen Is Hostess At CAR Meeting A meeting of the Joseph Howell Society, Children of the Ameri can Revolution was held Friday af ternoon with Betty Owen as hostess in her home on the Dellwood Road. Mrs. Raymond Lane, senior pres ident. directed the meeting and Betty Owen presided in the ab sence of Betty Barber, junior pres ident. The members responded to the roll call with stories of animals. Jr. WTHS May Queen I To Be Crowned At May Dance The annual May Dance for stu dents of the Waynesville Town | ship High School will be held Sat urday night. May 14, at The Arm ory, beginning at 8 o'clock. A May Queen, chosen from the senior girls, will reign during the evening and will be attended by two girls from each of the lower classes. Bobby Allen and his orchestra from Asheville will furnish the music.
