Pauline Inman and Marguerite Buss. Marguerite is going to the University oi North Carolina and study for her BS degree along with her degree in nursing at the School of Nursing. ? Carroll Best Treated At Hospital For Painful Burns By MISS PATRICIA MESSKR Community Reporter Carroll Best is a patient at the Haywood County Hospital, where he is being treated for painful burns. He was burned late Satur day while burning brush on his farm near his home. The farmers of this community are taking advantage of the good weather to plant their corn and other crops. ? J. B. James was re-elected chair man of the Upper Crabtree CDP at a recent meeting. The other offi cers will be elected at the next meeting. A number of citizens here, at tended tjie funeral Sunday of Gene Holcombe, 6, son of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Holcombe. of Leices ter. The family were former resi dents of this community. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Best have com pleted their new home and have moved in. Mr. and Mrs. David Rogers have their new home almost completed. They hope to be moving in soon. Miss Doris Messer had as her guest Sunday, Miss Carolyn Miller of Spring Creek. Fuller Justice is a patient at the Baptist Hospital at Winston-Salem, Mr. and Mrs. Monroe Yarbrough have bought the Massie Farm on Hyder Mountain and are moving there. ' ? ? ? ' v Mr. and Mrs. Dickerson of Tam pa, Kla. have bought the Yarbrqugh farm and plan to make it their summer home. O'Neal Justice, son of Mr. Rich ard Justice is home from service. He has just returned from Korea, where he spent several months. The Beta Club of. Crabtree-fron Duff High School had a wiener i roast Saturday night in Iron-Duff. Mr. and Mrs. Donald PlenVmons Aliens Creek CDP To Have Chicken Supper By BLANCHE FRANKLIN Community Reporter The Aliens Creek CDP met Mon day night tor its regular meeting. The devotion was given by Detmas Caldwell. A short business session followed, including committee re ports. Plans were made to finish the work bn the Buchanan Cemetery. Plans were also made for a fried chicken supper May 21. Mrs, K Allen. Mrs. Gale Craig, and Mrs. Delmas Caldwell are in charge of arrangements. After the meeting, refreshments were served by K. Allen and Bill Hembree. Guests Included Bob Tippett, as sistant county agent, and Mrs. Tip pett. Wayne Caldwell and Richard Green of Mars Hill College spent the weekend with their parents. Louie \Vells of the U. S. Navy visited relatives last week.
