Kearns Dies At 59 James Joseph Kearns, 59, of Bal sam Street, Hazelwood, died at 3:30 a.m. today in the Haywood County Hospital following a short illness. A former resident of Brooklyn, N. Y., Mr. Kearns was a technical engineer with Dayton Rubber Company. He was the son of the late William and Bridget C. Kearns of Brooklyn. A service will be conducted to night at 8 o'clock in the chapel at Garrett Funeral Home with the Rev. William H. Marquis, pastor of the Hazelwood Presbyterian Church, officiating.
