The ceremony was held Satur day, July &. in Greenville, South ' Carolina, in the home of Guy Gul lick. Mrs. Rathbone is a member of the Junior class of the Wayne*- [ ville Hifh School. She was em ployed at the Smoky Mountain Drive-In Theatre at the time of her marriage. \ ? Mr. Rathbone is a member of 1 the Junior class at -the Fines Creek High School. The couple will make their home in Newport News, Va? where Mr. Rathbone is employed with Sears, Roebuck and Co. * * * Mrs. Osborne Is Hostess At Club Meeting The South Clyde Home Demon stration Club met Tuesday after noon in the home of the president, Mrs. Henry Osborne. Mrs. Os borne welcomed the guests, Miss Lucille Cathey of Winston Salem, Mrs. Galloway of Hendersonville, Miss Myrtle Jackson, and Miss Veggie Cochran. The devotional was given by Mrs. Lloyd Justice. The club made plans to visit the Asheville Orthopedic Home in August instead of holding a club picnic. Plans were also made to entertain the ministers from Lake Junaluska at the Community House on Saturday afternoon. A com mittee composed of Mrs. P. C. Mann, Mrs. Glenn Allen, Mrs. Van Deaver, Mrs. Lloyd Justice and Mrs. Curtis Rogers was named to assist. Mrs. C. E. Chambers, garden leader, discussed the value of a full garden. The demonstration on "Care of House Plants" was given by Miss Mary Cornwell. During the social hour an auc tion sale was held. Mrs. Osborne was assisted in en tertaining by her daughters. ? * ? . Wilson, Sr. of Waynesville, who announce her engagement to William J. Heis, Jr., of Johnson City, N. Y.; son of Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Heis, also of Johnson City. Morning Star Club Meets With Mrs. Patton Mrs. Emmett Patton and Mrs. Bill Cooper were hostesses at a meeting of the Morning Star Home Demonstration Club Monday after noon in the home of Mrs. Patton. i Mrs. Ralph Gibson conducted the devotions. Mrs. Howard Cole presided and plans were made to hold a .bas ketry workshop in aonncetion with the annual August picnic at the home of Mrs. Loranzo Smathers. Mrs. R. H Worley, garden leader, gave hints for the control of gar den insects and r.'ressed the im poitance of a fail garden. Miss Mary Cornwcll gave the demonstration on the Care of House Plants. During the social hour, games were played and a prize was won by Miss Peggie Cochran. ? ? * Canton Club Plans Visit To Hospital The Canton Homemakers HDC met on Monday night in the home of Mrs J. B. Hurley with Miss Emma Hall, Mrs. Eleanor Jacocks and Mrs. G. W. Bohnsdahl as co-hostesses. Mrs. W. C. Cow art, presided and Mrs. Bohnsdahl conducted the devotions. Plans were completed for the annual party to be given for pat ients. at Moore General Hospital. This is a joint project with the Mc Kimmon Club. Mrs. Mark Reno reported on a copper tooling work shop and plans were made for several additional work shops. The club will hold a family pic nic at the home of Mrs. E. E Conley in August. Project leaders reports were given on home gardens by Miss Emma Hall and food conservation by Mrs Gudger Palmer. The demonstration on "Care of House Plants" was given by the home agent. ? * ? She wore a gown of blue nylon net over taffeta with matching mitts and a floral halo. She car i ried a bouquet of mixed flowers. Fred Harris of Murphy served as best man. A reception was held following the ceremony with Mrs. Roy Potts of East La Porte, Mrs. Yates F. j Burgess and Mrs. Pritchard Smith i of Waynesville, and Mrs. Cole of I Sylva assisting. The couple left after the recep tion for a wedding trip to St. Sim ons Islahd, Georgia. For traveling the bride wore a pink print dress with white accessories and the white orchid from her bouquet. Mrs. Robinson is a member of the Waynesville High School fac ulty. Mr. Robinson is employed by the State Highway Department at Asheville.
