Is Honored
Miss Eugenia Boone, whose mar-1
riage to James Jeter will be an
event of July 31. was honored at a
tea given Wednesday afternoon by
Mrs. W. A. Hyatt, and her daugh
ter, Miss Nancy Hyatt, in their
home on Haywood Street.
During the first hour, guests
were greeted on the porch by Mrs.
W. F. Swift and Mrs. Leon Kil
lian, Jr. In the receiving line
were the hostesses, the bride-elect
and her mother, Mrs. R. H. Boone,
and the mother and grandmother
of the bridegroom-elect, Mrs. R.
R. Jeter and Mrs. Ida H. Redditt.
Mrs. Zeb Curtis and Miss Nancy
Killian presided- at the tea table
and assisting in the dining room
were Mrs. Clarence Hyatt, Mrs.
Joe Boone, and Miss Nancy Jo
Doggett.
The tea table was covered with
a lace cloth and the centerpiece
was a pink and white arrange
ment of roses, lilies, sweet peas,
and baby's breath. A green and
white color scheme was carried
out in the ices and appointments.
Mrs. lamest Hyatt and Mrs. H.
L. Boyd, Jr. received on the porch
during the second hour with Mrs.
Joe Doggett, Mrs. Homer Plott
and Mrs. Rufus Siler presiding in
the dining room. Assisting in serv
ing were Mrs. J. P. Francis, Jr.
and the Misses Ruth, Helen, and
Linda Boone.
Around one hundred and twen
ty-five guests- were included in
the courtesy.

breath.
Informal games were played
after which refreshments were
served. Mrs. Davis was assisted by

returned to their home in Dell
I wood from Bradenton, Florida,
where they attended the funeral
of Mrs. Moody's brother, Joe Mc
Leod.
Mr. McLeod, a county commis
sioner in Florida for 18 years, was
a frequent summer, visitor in the
Waynesville area.

demonstration student who is
spending the summer In Haywood
County, gave a program on "The
Care jot House Plants" at a meet
ing of the Merry Homemakers of
Canton Monday afternoon.
The meeting was held in the
home of Mrs. C. C. Polndexter
with Mrs. L. L. Shaver and Mrs.
J. C. Harrison as co-hostesses.
Mrs. Steve Czarnecki, 1st vice
president, presided and plans were
completed for a workshop on cop
per tooling to be held at the Aug
ust meeting in the Rockwood
^lethodist Church.
Mrs. Eugene Grogan gave a re
port of the craft school which she
attended and project reports were
given by Mrs. Carl Stiles on gar
dening and Mrs. Czarnecki on
home beautification.

votions.
