Bob Grasty wa honored at
' special services at the Ratcliffe
' Cove Baptist Church Sunday morn
! ing. The occasion was Mr. Grasty's
eighty-seventh birthday. He was
presented a birthday cake and a
love offering was taken in appreci
ation of his twenty-five years of
| service in the church.
Following the service, a birthday
dinner was held in the home of a
son, Truman Grasty, in the Hyatt
Creek section.

Mr. Grasty has 6 children, 36
grandchildren, and a number of
great-grandchildren. Four chil
dren are deceased. He has made
his home in the Ratcliffe Cove
Community since 1928 and has
been active in the Ratcliffe Cove
Baptist Church.

by her father. She wore a gown of
white Chantilly lace over bridal
satin fashioned with fitted bodice
accented with scalloped neckline.

! gathered skirt ended in a chapel
| train. Her two-tiered finger-tip veil
i of French illusion fell from a half
shell of rosepoint lace trimmed
with sequins and seed pearls and
her only ornament was a strand
of pearls, a gift of the bridegroom
She carried a colonial bouquet
centered with a white orchid and
showered with satin streamers and
lily-of-the-valley.

ron of honor. The bridesmaids
were Miss Mozelle Liner of
Waynesville. Mrs. George Winecoff
of Raligh, and Mrs. Dick Wilson

gowned alike in blue lace cocktail
! dresses, similar in design to that
of the bride. Their headdresses
were half-sliells of matching lace
and they carried bouquets of mixed
summer flowers.
Dr. Jeter served as best man
for his son and ushers were Robert
and David Jeter, brother of .the
bridegroom, Joe Boone, brother of
the bride, and Robert Brannon, all
of Wavnesville.
Immediately following the cere
mony the parents of the bride en
tertained with a reception in the
dining room of the church. Assist
ing were Mrs. Joe Boone, Mrs. Al
len Boone, and Mrs. James Boone,
sisters-in-law of the bride; the
Misses Sara. Ruth, and Linda
Boone, sisters of the bride; Miss
Mary Wayne Crymes of Charlotte,
cousin of the bride; Mrs. Pink
Francis, Miss Bessie Sue Francis,
Miss Betty Felmet, Miss Julia Ann
Stovall. and Miss Shirley Sheffield.
The couple left after the recep
tion for a wedding trip to Florida.
For traveling the bride wore a
champagne colored two-piece dress
with matching accessories and the
orchid corsage from her bridal
bouquet. Upon their return Mr.
and Mrs. Jeter will be at home on
the Asheville Road. Waynesvillc.
The bride attended Vaynesville
High School. Mars Hill Junior Col
lege. and Woman's College of the
University of North Carolina and
was gradulaed from the North
Carolina Baptist Hospital School
of Nursing in Winston-Salem. At
present she is a member of the
nursing staff .of the Haywood
County Hospital.
The bridegroom was graduated
from Thomas Jefferson High
School and the University of Rich
mond. Va. and was a member of |
Phi Theta Delta Fraternity. He
served three years in the U. S.'
Air Force with duty in the United
Stntes and Furopc and now holds

Annual Episcopal Bazaar
Is Set For Thursday
The annual Summer Bazaar at
Grace Episcopal Church will be
held all day starting at 10 a.m.
Thursday, August 4. The public
Is invited.
Sale tables will include fine
hand-made articles, baby clothes,
aprons, unique Christmas gifts,
wrapping papers and cards, mis
cellaneous items, a white elephant
table, and home-made food stuffs.
A cold plate luncli of friend
chicken will be offered at noon
time, and the Youth Group of the
church will conduct a snack bar
all day.
Reservations for the evening
meal must be made in advance
with Mrs. Henry Lee IGL 6-8502).
Miss Pearl Harris, president of
the Woman's Auxiliary, which is
presenting the Bazaar, is chair
man. Every woman member of
the church has been asked to con
