Jerome Boyd Completes J Military Service Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Boyd left yesterday for Raleigh where Mr. Boyd will resume his studies as a member of the junior class at State College. Boyd was recently discharged from the U. S. Army at Fort Camp ht 11, Kentucky after serving two years. He was attached to the Mili tary Police. Wesleyan Guild To Hold All-Day Training Session Members of the VVesleyan Ser vice Guild of Methodist Churches oi six counties will attend an an nual All-Day Coaching Conference and Officers Training, Sunday. Dr. Matthews Addresses Canton PTA Dr. Hugh A. Matthews, Canton physician, spoke 6n "Accidents in Childhood" at the September meeting of the Pennsylvania Ave nue P.T.A. Dr. Matthew? urged parents to cheek their own homes in order to eradicate accident hazards. He suggested that stairways, walk ways, and yards be cleared, ani that medicine cabinets be checked. He stated that thought should be given to proper lighting, and that milk bottles should be placed in containers and not left carelessly | on door steps. "From the ages of 1 to 14 years accidents kill more children than all known childhood diseases," Dr. ; Matthews stated. He cited several accident case histories, and urged I parents to use common sense to j avoid accidents. I In closing Dr. Matthews said. I "The life you save may be that of your own child". Marquis, pastor of the Hazelwood Presby terian Church, was the guest speaker at the initial fall meeting of the Waynesville Woman's Club held Thursday afternoon in the dining room of the First .Metho dist Church. Mr. Marquis* subject was ''Go Forward.'* He said that people to day should follow God's command as did the Children of Israel when He commanded them to "go for ward."
