Hendrix-Bishop Marriage Is Announced Announcement is made of the marriage of Mrs. Rose Lee Bishop of Hopewell, Va.( and C, L. Hen drix, also of Hopewell. Mr. Hen drix is a former resident of Waynesville. The ceremony was performed in the chapel of the Broad Street Methodist Church at Statesville on Monday, November 7, with the Rev. J. A. Lindsey pronouncing the vows. Only close relatives were present. The bride wore a light blue lace street length dress with a match ing feather hat. Mrs, Hendrix is assistant man ager of the Beacon Theatre at Hopewell. Mr. Hendrix is employ ed with Hercules Powder Co. They are now visiting relatives of Mr. Hendrix in Waynesville. * * * Charles Alley Is Member Of University Orchestra Charles Alley of Waynesville is a member of the 70 piece Florida State University Symphony Or chestra w hicti has scheduled a sea-^ son of four performances in the University's Westcott Auditorium. Alley, who attended the School of Music of Oklahoma University for two years, is a member of the junior class at Florida State. * * * Hettie Franklin Wins Cash Scholarship Miss Hettie Franklin, student nurse at Memorial Mission Hos pital. Asheville. has been awarded a $75.00 scholarship by the Sorop timist Club of Asheville. A 1055 graduate of the Waynes ville Township High School, Miss Franklin is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Franklin of Fran cis Cove. Haywood WSCS Is Holding Study At Canton Church ( < The second session of a mission ' study on "The Christian Mission in a Revolutionary World," will be 1 held tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock in Central Methodist ? Church at Canton. The study began Wedi esday and will be completed in tuur sessions. The last two wil be Wednesday and Friday next week. The hour? will be from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. each day and all sessions will be at the Canton Church. Hazelwood 4-H Club Has Regular Meeting The Hazelwood 4-H Club held a regular meeting Friday. Cecil Brown, assistant county agent conducted a program for the boys on Record Keeping and Miss Jean Childers, assistant home agent, instructed the girls in crafts with yarn. Many people believe it is bad luck to kill a stork. Medical Auxiliary Welcomes Two Mew Members The Haywood County Medical Auxiliary held a luncheon hieet ng Monday afternoon at The rowne House. Mrs. Boyd Owen presided dur ing the business hour and wel ?omed two new members, Mrs. I Jack Dickerson and Mrs. George Wallace Brown. A new standing committee, the Hospital Service Committee, was appointed. Mrs. Jack Dickerson is chairman and serving with her will be Mrs. George Brown and Mrs. Myrtle Sarven. Mrs. Thomas Strlngfield report ed a book placed in the county li brary in memory of Dr. S. W. Jabaut. Mrs. James Strin^held was ap pointed to represent the auxiliary in working with the public rela tions committee of the Medical Society. Request for an auxiliary representative was made by Dr. Doris Hammett. Work sheets were distributed to each committee chairman and an nual dues were collected by Mrs. W. R. Hudson, treasurer.
