Also Canton fans are proud of Charlie Carpenter and his excel lent football record this year at Wake Forest. Our new student lounge has been officially opened with its juke box, drink and peanut ma chines. This is a new and wonder ful project our student council is sponsoring. This year Canton High has a new Crafts Club under the lead ership of Mrs. Kellett. The mem bers make small crafts which they display. Two more new clubs are the Junior Civitan and Key Club. Both of these clubs are also active. \ ? When foundered, cows have the habit of standing in a branch. Let's not have any two footed creatures following suit after the Thanksgiving season. Agricultural exports have in creased again this year after show ing a seven per cent gain in 1954 over 1953. RAY MILNER Community Reporter Jarvis Caldwell was elected chairman of the Iron Duff CDtP at the annual election of officers, which was held at the meeting of formal dedication of the commun ity building. Jack Ray was named vice presi dent; Beverly Chambers, secretary; Mrs. Roy Medford treasurer; Mrs. Ray Milner, reporter. Mrs. Fannie Davis was named to be in charge of the scrapbook, while Mrs. Glenn TategMrs. Bon nie CaldweU and Mrs. Belle Mc Elroy compose the hospitality com mittee. The program committee consists of Raymond Caldwell, Mrs. Roy Medford, and Mrs. Frank Bradshaw. The formal dedicatory program had been planned earlier, but was postponed due to the illness of Jarvis Caldwell, who deeded the land for the building, and a lead er in the promotion of the con struction program. Mrs. Roy Medford gave the de votional, with Ray Milner offering the prayer of dedication.
