Beaverdam HDC Club Plays Host To* Crabtree-ID Nineteen members of the Crab tree - Iron Duff - Hyder Mountain Home Demonstration Club were guests of the Beaverdam Club Tuesday afternoon when the regu lar meeting was held -at the home of Mrs. Coble McCracken. Mrs. George Frady presided over the business, and also poured dur ing the social hour following the meeting. Interesting reports were heard, including the presentation of the child's wheelchair to the Haywood County Hospital, and a contribu tion of $55 to the Cancer Fur L A number of new homes are be ing erected in Thickety community this year. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hlpps have already moved into their new home. Mr. and Mrs. David Burch have theirs ready to move into, and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Harris have theirs well under way. Landscaping is being done this week for a new home for Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Wright. Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Ben F. Kennedy of New Smyrna Beach. Fla., and Norton, Va., have arrived to erect a new home on the old Murray place. Mrs. Kennedy Is the former Miss Flora Murray of this community. Mr. and Mrs. Troy Ford and son returned Sunday after a week's va- < cation at Daytona Beach, Fla. They were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Spencer Walker of Brevard. Jarrett Williamson, who suffered an attack of pneumonia last week, is reported to be improving at his home. Soco Gap Bones Bring Charge Of Grave Robbing (By the Associated Press) Ted Wells, IB, of Ashevllle, has seen charged with grave-robbing, police said, as a result of a sack of mman bones being found in the runk of an abandoned car on Soco 3ap about two weeks ago. Sgt. E. W. Jones of the State highway Patrol said Wells admit ed digging up the bones in the iackyard of a friend while burying i fox. Jones said Wells told the patrol hat an unmarked grave turned up luring the digging in the back yard >f a friend, Harold Fuller of Ashe rille. The sergeant said Wells re noved a skull, ribs and leg bones ind put them in a sack in the back >f his car. v The car broke down when he and duller were visiting Fuller's rela ives in Bryson City. They aban loned the car on Soco Gap. Allen Family Reunion Will Be Held Sunday A reunion of the Allen family vill be held at the residence of drs. Nettie Allen in front of the Miens Creek Baptist Chureh this Sunday. Originally scheduled to be held it the home of Jack Kelley, the ?vent has been moved because of lickness in the family.
