County Girl Scouts Receive Awards At Court Of Honor A Court of Awards for Haywood County Girl Scouta waa held at the Canton Junior High School Sunday afternoon with Mrs. Con Goodson, Canton Neighborhood chairman, presiding. Mrs. Ann Watkins of Waynesville gave the welcome. Ann Kitchen and Rebec ca Chappell directed the singing. the stage, decorated with Amer ican and Troop flags and ivy, made an effective setting for the candle-light ceremony. Parents and friends were seated in the bleachers. The service opened with the presentation of the colors follow ed by the singing of The Star Spangled Banner. Mrs. Bertie Sorsbee led the flag Ceremony, which was followed by a song, America, and the Lord's Prayer. Troop 10?, Mrs. Florence Moore leader, conducted the candlelight ceremony, which included the Brownie Promise, the Girl Scout Promise, and the song, "When E'er You Make e Promise". A talk on Girl Scouting was given by Loranxo Smatbers.
