Honeycutt, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Grady Honeycutt of Waynes
vilie. and Stanley Underwood, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Under
wood of Lake Junaluska, was
solemnized in the Dellwood Meth
odist Church, Saturday afternoon.
June 16. at 4 o'clock.
The Rev. Grady Barringer, pas
tor of the church, performed the
ceremony and music was presented
by Miss Elizabeth Summcrrow.

The bride, given in marriage
by her father, wore a ballerina
length gown of embroidered white
polished cotton designed with
molded bodice and full skirt. Her
shoulder length veil of illusion
fell from a halo studded with seed
pearls and she carried a white
orchid on a Bible.
Miss Sally Stovall of Waynes
ville was maid of honor and the
bride's only attendant. Her dress
was of ice blue crystalette fash
ioned with long draped torso and
full ballerina skirt. She wore a
matching halo and carried a cas
cade bouquet of mixed flowers.
Dewey Gaddis served as best
man and ushers were Ted Cald
well and Malcolm Clark.
Mrs. Underwood was graduated
from Waynesvilie Township High
School and has been employed at
the Haywood Hospital.
Mr. Underwood was also grad
uated from the Waynesvilie schools
and served four years in the Navy.
He is now associated writh his
father in the Underwood Novelty
Company.
For a wedding trip the bride
wore a pink linen suit with white
accessories and the orchid corsage
from her Bible.
The couple will make their home
at Lake Junaluska.

Lake Woman's Club
Sets First Meeting
Friday Afternoon
The first meeting of the Lake
Junaluska Woman's Club this sum
mer has been scheduled for Fri
day at 3:30 p.m. in the Methodist
World Council Building.
The program will center around
the administrative organization of
the club in its 19S6 schedule. Dr.
Elmer T. Clark, secretary of the
World Methodist Council, will con
duct the club on a tour of the
building, which contains archives
and busts of John Wesley. All
women at the Lake, those here for
short periods as well as for the
season, are eligible for member
ship in the club, and all are in
vited to join.
The executive committee will
meet at 2:45 p.m. Friday.

The Alpha Theata Chapter of
Beta Sigma Phi voted unanimously
at its meeting last week to sub
scribe $150 to stock in the Waynes
ville Recreation Commission. This
stock was in addition to individual
subscriptions by the members.
The chapter also voted to spon
soi a dance in July. Miss Elaine
Francis and Miss Mozelle Liner
were appointed co-chairmen of the
event.

the meeting which was held in the

Leaves For
European Tour
Miss Laura Woody left yesterday
for New York City from where
she will sail Saturday aboard the
Holland-American Liner, Water
mann, for Europe.
She will visit twelve countries
on an "American Students Abroad" jf
tour and will return in September.
The tout will begin in Holland
and will include England. Scotland,
Ireland, France. Italy, Austria, and
Germany.
Miss Woody was graduated this
month from Randolph Macon Wom
an's College in Lynchburg. Va. She
was accompanied to New York by
her mother and brother, Mrs.
Jonathan Woody and Stephen
Woody.
