nesville, was solemnized Saturday,
July 28. at 7 p.m. in the Rase
?Chapel Methodist Church at
Statesville.
The Rev. F. R. Barber and the
Rev J. W. Teague. brother of the
bridegroom, officiated, using the
double ring ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a gown of white
net and Chantfllv lace over satin
designed with molded bodice of
lace and full skirt of net with
front panel of lace. Her ingertip
veil of illusion was attached to a
matching lace cap. and she carried
a white Bible with a corsage of
white catenations.
Miss Frances Jurnev was maid
of honor. Her dress was of orchid
net over taffeta and she carried a
heart-shaped bouquet of mixed
flowers.
Vickie Frye. niece of the bride,
was flower girl. She wore a white
nrd^^k- dress and carried a bas
ket^^^nixed flowers.
Teague Williams, cousin of the
bridegroom, served as best man
and ushers were Raul "rye, broth
er of the bride, and Ralph Kur
fees.
The mother of the bride wore a
gray dress with matching acces
sories and a white carnation cor
sage. The bridegroom's mother

For a wedding trio to Western
North Carolina the bride wore a
black cotton sheath dress with
white trim and white accessories
and the corsage from her Bible.
Mrs. Teague is a graduate of
Harmony High School and the
Commercial Department of Wo
man's College, Greensboro.
Mr. Teague is a graduate of
Fines Creek High School, Mars
Hill Junior College and North
Carolina State College. He serv
ed two years in the Army and is
now a member of the faculty of
Harmony High School.
Among the out-of-town guests at
the wedding were Mr. and Mrs.
Henry F. Teague and Robert Wil
liairts of Waynesville; and Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Sutton and the Rev.
P. C. Hicks of Canton.

Haywood Institute
Reunion Is Held
At Clyde Baptist
An estimated 225 persons at
tended the Haywood Institute Re
union last week at the Clyde Bap
tist Church, with representatives
present from classes rjnging from
1900 to 1927, and two faculty
members of the turn of the cen
tury.
Officers were elected for the
year as follows: Ralph Crawford,
Canton, president; Roy Crain,
Greer, S C . vice president; Mrs.
Lee Evans, Wavnesville, secretary.
The group voted to furnish the
young people's assembly room of
the church as a memorial to the
institute
Memorial resolutions were
drawn up for the late Rev. R. P.
MeCracken of Haywood County
and Bill Taylor of Taylors. S. C.
The two teachers from the
early days of the school were Mrs.
Mary Conle-v Swayngim, who
taught in 1900. and Mrs. Roxie
Hyatt Cowan, 1901. Other teachers
attending were the Rev. Carl
Campbell of Birmingham, Ala.,
John Bamett of Marietta, Ga.;
Ethel Balontine of Ware Shoals.
S. C.; Mrs; Dewey Kirstein of
\sheville; Dr. J. C. Davis of
Florida and G. C, Underwood of
Tennessee.
The group decided to hold the |
reunion annually the first Sunday
in August.

Reported Seen
In New Jersey
Jean Woods, 14-year-old Clyde
high school student reported miss- j
ing Thursday morning, is said to j
have been seen In New Jersey in
the compaov of a man. Sheriff Fred
Campbell said this morning.
The sheriff has turned the ease
over to the Federal Bureau of In
vestigation since his information
indicates that the state line has
t^en crossed. The FBI took over
the case this morning.
The report was given to him, he
said, as a result of the picture and
story which appeared in Thursday's
Mountaineer.
Hereford Sale Set
For August 17, 18
The 9th annual WNC Hereford
Show and Sale will be held on Au
guest 17 and 18 at the WNC Fair
grounds in Hendersonville, it has
been announced by Mrs. E. D.
Chandler, W.N.C. Hereford Asso
ciation secretary.
A total of 53 head, both horned
and polled, have been entered by
10 Western North Carolina breed
ers.
Included in the offering are 10
bulls ready for service and 45
heifers, both open and bred.
The cattle were selected by a
committee composed of Paul Ay- j
cock of the Polled Hereford Asso
ciation and Magnus Greenthaler of
the American Hereford Association.
The show will be held on August
17 at the fairgrounds beginning
at 12 noon. Dr. E. R. Ba'rrick of '

judge.
The sale will begin at 12 noon

last week after a visit at the home
of his brother-in-law and sister.

Francis toured apple orchards and
reported finding an excellent crop.
