The workshops have been held

Friday, August 16-17, front 2 p.m.
until 10 p m. in the Cahton Armory
on t'enland Street

The show will be open to all
amateur gardeners, and the pub
lic is invited to attend.
Exhibitors must comply with all
rules and regulations of the flow
er show committees, and entries
must conform to the schedule.

but mav enter non-competitive

A MEMORIAL MARKER honoring 125.000 North
Carolina Confederate Veterans was unveiled at
Beech Gap Saturday afternoon b- 'he N. C. Divi
sion of the Vnited Daughters of the Confederacy.
The marker is in the Confederate Memorial For
est where 125.000 balsam tr?w ? were set out by
the CDC more than ten years ago. Sam Weems.
'partly obscured, far left' superintendent of the
Blue Ridge Parkway, accepted custody of the
marker and Don J. Morris* of Asheville (with
microphone) supervisor of N. C. National Forestry
also participated Ted Seely, park ranger, is the
other man in the group and Mrs. R. N. Barber, Sr.,

woman in the group to the right of the marker.

made lace cloth. The centerpiece
was an arrangement of pink and
white roses and baby's breath.

During the first hour Mrs. Bob
