Midget Basketball Team Plans Tryout Wednesday The Mountaineer Midget basket ; ball team, to be sponsored by the Elks Lodge, will hold its first try out of the season at 4 p.m. Wed nesday in the old gymnasium at . , . ; j Waynesvllle High School, accord ing to Coach Rock Powers. The only requirement for the team. Coach Powers said, is that a boy be under 14 years of age by j the coming first of January. Ten boys will be outfitted as the traveling squad, but all boys who come out will get to play, the coach said. He said that the Midgets prob ably will play six games this sea son?some of them as a prelimin ary to Dayton Rubber games in the WNC Basketball League. Practice sessions four times a week from 4 until 5:30 p.m. are tentatively planned, he added.
