Gavin -was hostess on Tuesday afternoon from 8:30 to 6:80 o'clock to the B. M. G. Sew ing Club. After the usual sewing bee delicious ? refreshments were served. The busi ness session was presided over by the president. Miss Lula Hinson. The program and social hour for the afternoon were in charge of the Welfare department of the lo cal club with Mrs. N. B. Boney as chairman. Twelve pupils of the 6th grade of which Mies Fannie ; Al drige'ls teacher, presented an In teresting playlet, "The Postmast er's Dream", which stressed the significance of the T. B. Christ mas seals. The children were in attractive costumes and took their parts well. The guests were, then seated at the various tables placed about the club rooms and the hos tesses ' served tempting refresh ments. The hostesses were Mesda mes, A. J. Blanton, R. C. Wells W. J.. Pickett, C. B.- Sitterson, D . 8. WiUiamson,. P. J. Dobson and N. B. j Boney. There were 25 -- ladies present besides the 12 children ta king part on the program, which made a total of 87 present, . The regular monthly meeting of the local P. T. A, was held in the Kenansville High School Auditor ium on Thursday night, November 21st, 1935, at 7:30 o'clock with the president, Judge A. J. Blanton, in the choir, assisted by his secretary Mrs. F. W. McGowan.' The meeting opened with the singing in concert of "America" followed by a pray er by Rev. F. L. Goodman. A good ly number of members were pres ent, also several visitors.' The pro-' gram was In charge of Misses Al ii rige and Whitehurat of the ele mentary department of the school. "A Thanksgiving - proclamation" was read by three children from the 5th grade. This was followed by a playlet ably presented by a dozen pupils from the 6th grade who were In attractive -costumes. The meeting adjourned to meet on l-Thursday night after the 3rd Sun day in.
