C. Howard, Mt. Olive Metho dist Circuit pastor. Deceased was the daughter of the late Mr, end Mrs. Gaston Kelly prominent family of Duplin County. In young womanhod she was married to B. P. Summerlin, after which they made their home in Mt. Olive till twenty-five years ago, since then having lived at Summerlin's Cross Roads. Born to this union were two children. -;' She had been a life long mem ber of Alum Springs - Missionary Baptist Church to which she was faithful and devoted. She was of the Heavenly type-of womanhood.. She. was loved by all who knew her for her high standards, cap ability and quiet assuming nature. She had been in declining health for several years and practically deaf, which limited, her pleasures to a very great extent. Last July she was taken decisively worse and was taken to a Kinston hospi tal where she received treatment. Returning to her home she remain ed ill. Four weeks prior to her death she had paralysis of th spine, which rendered her helpless. Tuesday before the end came she was stricken much worse from which she never regained consci ousness. All the loving ministra tions were In vain. Her faithful husband and children were contin ually by her side to do anything they could for her comfort. She'd always say, "Daddy won't leave me." ... She is survived by her husband, j one son, Jospeh Lillard Summer lin and one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Kelly S. Grady, three grandchild ren, Jean and Joe Summerlin and Jomes Earl Grady, Jr. Two bro thers. John Kelly; Mt. Olive Rt. 2 and Gaston Kelly; Seven Springs two sister, Mesdames Gianni and Minnie Holt of Spencer, N. C. and a host of other relatives and fri ends. The many beautiful floral de signs attested the love her family and friends had for. her. : The flower gins were relatives. Pallbearers were; Cpl. lis ton Summerlin; Clayton Summerlin; Emmett Kelly; Walter Hlnson; Edd -Goodman; Roy Outlaw; Rus sell Kelly and Coy Summerlin. -Sunset and evening star. And one clear call for me; And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea; j : But such a tide as moaning seems asleep; - y Too full for sound and foam : When that which drew from out the boundaries deep, Turns again home. Twlight and evening bell.
