FAISOtl NEWS CLUBS MEET The October meeting of the Ses ame Club was held on Wednesday afternoon in the Community Buil ding with Mrs. J. W. Lineberger, Mrs. H. J. Faison and Mis. A. F. Rector as assistant hostesses. Af ter a business session the subject for' the afternoon, "The Mediter ranean", was introduced by the singing of several martial songs. The first paper, the subject of which was "The Mediterranean Theatre of War" was most ably discussed by Mrs. H. J. Faison. The subject of the second paper was "Generals Elsenhour and Clark". This paper was read by Mrs. B. F. McColman in the ab sence of Mrs. N. F. McColman who had prepared this interesting paper. At the conclusion of the meet ing the hostesses served delicious refreshments. On Friday evening the local Lions held their regular meeting in the Community Building. Af ter a short business session Mr. John Warren Jr., was received in to the club. The ladies of the Methodist Church served a del icious supper to the Lions. PERSONALS Mrs. J. J. Gibbons of Wilson spent the week end at the home of her sister, Mrs. LUa H. Hines. Miss Cornelia G. Beems, a stu dent of E C T C GreenvUle 6pent the week end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. Beems. Mr. and Mrs William Clifton, Mrs. J. E. Faison, Mrs. D. New ton and Miss Blanche Lewis atten ded the wedding of Miss Margaret Taylor to Sgt. Lawrence C. Har rison on Saturday afternoon in Raleigh. Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Ray, Betty and Horace Ray and Mrs. A. R. Hicks Jr., spent Saturday In Ral eigh shopping. Mr. Clemont Shine ot state CoUege, Raleigh, spent the week end at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Shine. Miss Lenoir Williams spent the week end in Dunn with her father Mr. I. R. Williams. She and he father attended the Duke-Carolina football game in Durham on Sat urday. Mrs. M. A large num ber of out of town friends and re latives were present Mrs. Cooper, the former Carrie Lou King, died early Friday morn ing after several months illness.
