C have given seven sons to the ser ies. One gave his life at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7th, 1941. The; other six lads are fighting on var ious fronts. This leaves Mr. and Mrs. Hilton, the parents, to back the attack at home, by getting in the 'cotton crop on their six-acre farm. : The two remaining Htltons, though, can't pick cotton as fast "ks, their stalwart sons. John Herring of Smithfieid was . presented a certificate of heroism for having saved the life of Bobby Farmer, 11, last August when Bobby fell off a log while trying to cross Neuse River. W, A. Dod son of Atlanta, regional director of Boy Scouts of America, made the presentation and made a plea for more Scout leaders. J. Arthur Best, probation offi cer for Wayne County for the past 10 years, said that not one Boy Scout has been called into juvenile court here. Dr. Rose appointed the follow ing committee: Chairman, E.
