Frederick James Brown
Frederick James B. own, age 56,
died Saturday night in a Lumber
ton hospital after a long illness.
He was the son of the late Hal
stead Daniel and Mary Elizabeth
Brown'of Duplin County.
Funeral services were held at
the graveside in the family ceme
tery near Bowden Tuesday after
noon at 2:00. Services were in
charge of Rev. G. Van Stephens,
pastor of the Warsaw Baptist
Church.
He is survived by two daugh
ters, Irene and Annie Bell, two
sons, Samuel James and Frede
rick, Jr., all of Rocky Mount; one
sister, Miss Mamie Brown of Nor
folk, Va., and three brothers, H.
W. of Virginia Beach, Horace Dan
iel of Conway, S. O, and Raymond
C Brown of Wilson.

the Methodist church. He was born

living to the age Of 58 years. He

IMPORTED GRAINS
ENROUTE TO N. C.
Raleigh within the next 60
days 2,500 carloads of Argentine
corn and 446 carloads of Argen
tine barley will be imported into
this country for distribution in the
East and South, lt was announced
by D. S. Coltran chairman of the
N. C. Feed Committee. He said
this state would get its share.
The barley is now enroute from
Argentine and the corn is sched
uled to be loaded in July and both
should be available by August 15.
Distribution will be under WFA
control.
This state's average monthly
allocations of feed wheat are now '
around 15 percent of what they
