Wells is the only veteran of previous service. . v Mrs. Jernigan Dies At Woodland ' Mrs. Sallie Kornegay Jernigan, 65, of the Woodland community of this county, died from pneumonia at her home Saturday morning. She was the widow of Clarence Jerni gan. Surviving are three ions, Clif ford Jernigan of KenansvlUe, Clar ence and James Morris Jernigan of Seven Springs; two daughters, Mrs. Bernice Kornegay and Mrs. George Turner, both of Mt. Olive; two brothers, Frank Kornegay and Shadrach Kornegay, both of Seven Springs; and five sisters, Mrs. Ro land Thomas of Pink Hill, Mrs. Howard Kennedy of Warsaw, Mrs. Henry Tyndall of Seven Springs, Mrs. Clifton' Sheppard of Calypso, and Mrs. Elizabeth Kornegay of Kinston. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Rooty Branch Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev. Steven Smith officiating, and interement in the Jernigan family cemetery.
