request the adoption thereof:. ' -Whereas,
according to the eter
nal purpose of Him who doeth all
things well, our friend and distin
guished Brother finished his earth
ly mission in the conflict of human
life January 12, 1947 and has en
tered into that reward which God
has promised all those who faith
fully serve Him; and ,
Whereas, his death occurred after-much
toil and hardships, al
though gaining for himself a good
name for he was a friend to all, has
left a vacancy in our midst which
will be hard to fill; and i ; i
.Whereas, we, toe Sisters and
Brothers of the Beulaville Chap
ter No. 237 desire to bear testi
mony to his active, useful and
fragrant life. He. being one who
loved his fellowmen and having a
very personal and particular love
for this Chapter which be was ser
ving as Associate Patron, and a
Charter member when the Chapter
was instituted April 9, 1943, it is
our firm opinion that no one has
been more faithful to his convic
tions of right, more, obedient to
the demands of Honor and Just
ice than Brother Brown., Remem
bering this, we are inspired with
new hope and earnest purpose to
lift fraternal friendship and love
to greater heights. He .was a faith
ful steward of his church, a faith
ful representation of the ideals of
Masonry and a faithful Eastern
Star. We can look upon his past
1 ife and realize that a good name
is rather to be chosen than great
riches for he was Fairest Among
Thousands altogether Lovely.
Therefore be it resolved: That
the sincere members of Beulaville
Chapter No. 237 be, extended to
the entire family;. that these reso
lutions be incorporated in the min
utes of our Chapter; a copy be
sent his Family; a copy to the
Duplin Times; and a copy to the
Tar Heel Star News.
Resolved further, that at the
meeting when these resolutions
- ire presented, we arise and stand
for thirty seconds and then be led
in prayer by Sister Effie T. Mercer
as. thankful acknowledgement of
the good example set by our
I Brother and aa an incentive to
those who survive to emulate his
life of service. w
