The bride' table was overlaid with an exquisite pink taffeta doth with' inserts of lace. Pink carnations, snapdragons and fern were artistically arranged in the. center of the table with tall pink tapers in silver candelabra on either side. The. piano was draped in ivy and centered With a novel arrangement of pink carnations, Purple dutch iris and yellow Jon quils. Covering the mantle were magnolia leaves intermingled with pink candles and gladioli. Guests were met at the door by Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Huie and intro duced to the receiving line by Mr. and Mrs. John M. Pelrce where they were received by Mrs. B. C. Sheffield, mother of the bride groom, the honor guests, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lewis Sheffield, L. C. Pat Harmon, president, president, was turned over to program chairman, Bill Sheffield, who effectively re produced by transcrlpiton a recent address by Rotary International President, Richard Hedke. It was also announced that the State Con vention will convene in Morehead City April 2. It is hoped that a large delegation will represent the Warsaw Rotary Club. At this, luncheon meeting the Warsaw High School Home Ec De partment served a turkey dinner. Masonic Sermon Be The annual Masonic Sermon, by Dr. Leon Graves, Superintendent of the Oxford Orphanage, will be de livered Sunday morning, April 13 at the 11 o'clock worship hour. Dr. Graves has recently succeeded the late Dr. C. K. Proctor, who for a number of years served as Super intendent of the Orphanage and did such a wonderful work. The Warsaw Mason will attend in a body and amost cordial invita tion is extended to the entire public to attend this service. To Aid The Rev: Williams The Rev. A. M. Williams, pastor of the Warsaw Methodist Church and Warsaw Charge, announces that he has been granted the ser vices of the Rev, Mr. Nicholson, "ember of the Western North Carolina Conference, who is tak ing . post graduate work at the Duke University Divinity School, in Durham. ' In aiding Rev. Williams with his work. Rev. Nicholson will preach each first and third Sunday morn ing at Turkey Methodist Church and on the same days hold services at Trinity Methodist Church, in Sampson County, at 12 o'clock and afternoon. This will enable Rev. Williams to preach every Sunday morning to his Warsaw congrega tion for a period of two months. VSCS Meeting Mrs. Claude B. Auxiliary Installation Service The Ladies Auxiliary of the Presbyterian Church met Monday afternoon with the retiring presi dent. Mrs. B. C. Sheffield In the chair. This being the last meeting of the year annual and business re ports were given by various com mittees after which the pastor, the Rev. Eugene H. Clarke, presented the devotionals and led an impress ive installation service at which time the new incoming president, MrsL. B. Huie along with vice pres ident, Mrs. J. M. Peirce; secretary. Miss Sallie Bowden, and treasurer, Mrs. John W. Best, reelected, were installed into office. These are the general officers and auxiliary offi cers and chairmen will be appoint ed at the monthly circle meetings. Warsaw's Sick List Mrs. Emma Hobbs was taken to James Walker Hospital in Wilming ton Sunday evening suffering with a badly infected hand. Last reports were that her condition is some what improved. Miss Saddie Bennett underwent an operation at James Walker Hos pital Saturday morning after .hav ing undergone treatment for a week. Her friends will delight that she is much improved and hopes to return home in a few days. Mrs. Kate Herring has been con fined to her home with pneumonia and ' is recuperating satisfactory. Her daughter, Mrs. Bessie McCall, arrived Saturday from Norfolk, Va. to be with her. i Little Judy and Bill Rollins have been confined to their home with flu. Celebrates Ellis Joseph, Jr., celebrated his ninth birthday Saturday afternoon, March 8 with an attractive child ren's party at the home of his mo ther, Mrs. Waddell Brinson on Col lege Si. Assisting her sister in entertain ing the 30 -children was Mrs. Seth Hill and Mrs. Micky Kannan, of Wilson.
