HENRY FORD is dead. That was the news flashed to the four corners
of the earth early Wednesday, April 9.
One of the really Great Men of Our Times has fallen.
Henry Ford belonged to the nobility of the common people. . '
The works of his hands and his head touched the lives of millions of
people all over the world. - - .:.A.v- .
His genius and his mastery of mechanics and organization wrought
a revolution in his day. . ' .
Henry Ford began life in humble circumstances. He started at the
bottom, with nothing more than the opportunity that lies before ev
ery, boy born in Free America. - ' ' '
He capitalized on a willingness to work to begin at the bottom.
On an idea and an ambition he built an industrial empire of huge
proportions.
He made a fortune, but in so doing he created jobs and business op
portunities for millions of his fellowmen. .
Others shared in his prosperity. - . . - .
Our generation has not seen a finer example of what a good and
great man can make of himself and do for his country and his fellow
men. . , - - ' l ' , . ....,'
In Peace and in War Henry Ford served his day and his generation
well.' " ' -
His examples and his accomplishments, under difficulties, will
stand for all time as a monument to his greatness and an inspiration
to young Americans. v '
Henry Ford did not believe the. Day of Opportunity had passed.
He was a man of Faith, Courage, and a believer in hard work. ; ,
His death removes from the scene of action one of the most dynamic
personalities of all timeT ,
