Mrs. Dora Hill, Age 75 Passes Mrs. Dora Hill, 75 years old, of the old Pink Hill section of Lenoir County,- died at her home early Saturday morning. 'The, funeral was held Monday at "3 p. m. and burial took place in- the old Davis cemetery near the home. Her grandfather,, the late Anthony Davis, I., was one of the largest merchants and landowners at one time. - Mrs. Hill was married three times. Her first husband, Jonah Howard died many years ago.- She later married Wm, Stroud and after his death she married Henderson Hill. To the first union was born three children: Thurman Howard, Mrs. Ermie Howard, and Mrs. Car rie Wiley. William Stroud,' Jr., is the only child by the second mar riage. -All of the 'children are liv ing in the Pink Hill section. Other surviving - relatives include two brothers, C. A. Davis of Norfolk, Va., and Hance A. Davis of Seven Springs, Rt. 1, and a number of grandchildren. Bridge Club Hostess Mrs. Horace Tyndall entertain ed her bridge club at her home on Wednesday afternoon. A "color scheme of . Pink and Green . was used throughout. Mrs. Alton Tyn dall scored high for club members and - Mrs, - Ike Stroud was holder of second high. Mrs. Melvin Jones won the consolation prize. . Mrs. J. A. Jones of Kinston was presented aguest prize. -- A dessert course was served. Auxiliary Meets Mrs. Lewis Everett was hostess to the Woman's Auxiliary of the Presbyterian Cnurch at her home Monday night, Mrs. T. ' A. Turner presided. Mrs. J. A. Worley was in charge of the program and Mrs. N. P. Farrior led the Bible Study Plans were made for the Birthday Party to be held at the church on Saturday night, May 31. " The hostess served a salad plate with coca colas to about 15 guests. VS OF CS Meets The Woman's, Society of Chris tian Service-held Its May meeting in the home of Mrs. W. H. Jones Monday afternoon.
