Grady - Outlaw Reunion Is -Scheduled
For August 30lh
The Executive Committee of the
Grady-Outlaw Literary & Histori
. cal Association met at Maxwell's
, Mill on Sunday, August 3rd., 1947,
"and the following proceedings were
had:
The Reunion was ordered held
on Saturday, August 30th., 1947, at
the B. F. Grady High School in Al
bertson Township, Duplin County.
1. John D. Grady volunteered
and was appointed Chairman of a
. Committee to place and arrange
" the table, with power to call in
such help as might be needed.
- Warren Maxwell and Alvin Kor
. negay were requested to assist him.
' - 2. The following Committee on
'Entertainments and Refreshments
. were appointed: Ben Frank Outlaw,
. ; Faison Smith, Susie Smith, Annie
' Outlaw Parker, Annie Maxwell Out

3. It was directed that all local
i members of the Association be re
,t quested to provide Tea, to be dis
': pensed under the direction of the
; - Committee on Entertainments.
4. Lewis W. Outlaw was ap
pointed a special Committee to di-
rect the placing and parking of au

. the Boy Scouts.

Raymond Adams of the University
of North Carolina be invited by
Mrs. Annie M. Outlaw to attend the
Reunion and speak briefly on the
subject of his own selection.
It was ordered that these minutes
be published in the following pa
pers: Mount Olive Tribune, Goldsboro
News-Argus, Kinston Free Press,
Duplin Times, Sampson News, and
The News & Observer.
- It is hoped that all members of
the Grady-Outlaw Clan will attend
this meeting, and bring baskets of
food. We expect to have a large
crowd this year," There is plenty
of shade, and visiting members
will not be incommoded by the
heat as was the case several years
ago.

is .spending .this week at his pa
ternal home in Seven Springs. He
has been gathering and selling
peaches from his pet project'Poor
Hope" farm near Hussey's Store.
,. Lawrence . plucked one large
peach and It weighed exactly one
half pound.- . .
After laboring in the class room
in Richmond .through the regular
wintej- session, and then through
a summer term, be came to Seven
Springs and. picked and sold pea
ches off ""Poor Hope" for $3.00
per bushel. Of course his brother.
Ruel nursed the orchard along for
him and brought about a good har
vest Lawrence seems to be enjoy
ing his week of farming.

English. Miss Lawson will report
to assume her duties on Sept. 1

been an outstanding 4-H club mem'
ber, and one to win a coveted trip
to Chicago through' her very fine
project work.

Women of The World
The Associated Country Women
of the World will be held in Amster
dam, Holland, September 8-13. This
organization is emporcd of 70 wo
men's organizations from 17 coun
tries. The N. C. Federation of Home
Demonstration Clubs is one of the
70 to send delegates. Delegates
from North Carolina are Mesdames I
ueorge Apperson, .va u. Pearson, '
H. M. Johnson, J. Broeks Tucker
and Walter Pike. Club members
have sent to the organization of
rural women money to assist in de
